one question:
do you miss your shots ever?

I don’t miss, problem is I overextend and die – I cut that part out though

doesnt take long, I just hit 2 buttons and its rendered as an avi, usually i dont bother unless there’s like a couple of good bits for each demo, or might include a single clip if it’s a unique map, hate “badlands” frag movies :) In terms of then editing it, well lol there isn’t any editing I just bunch the clips together.

Don’t you have to wait for aaageess on each clip though to get it recorded at a reasonable frame rate (say 60fps)? Last I tried using the in-built tool to save thousands of TGA files and it took several minutes to record maybe 20 seconds of footage.

If theres a better way, please let me know, especially if theres a way to set a tool to convert for a certain time frame, then I can just leave it be and don’t have to watch until I want to stop the conversion.

well I guess my machine is pretty quick I use host_framerate 60. If you use Orange’s PREC you can start exactly on the tick, I usually go back 500 or so then record. There wasn’t that many different clips, most of these carried on from each other I just couldnt be bothered with a slow paced movie so I sliced off big sections of me running about

burned my face by laughing into my tea at the first two frags.

video++ would watch again.

Thanks Fragga.

Actually I have a quadcore Q6600 overclocked from 2.4 to 3.4Ghz, 4 gigs of PC-8500 memory and a 7200rpm HDD so there shouldn’t really be any lack of performance in that regard. Perhaps it’s because I’m converting at 1680×1050 resolution.

I’ll check out P-REC. Currently I use 100% vanilla settings for everything, never used any scripts, custom huds or anything like that in TF2 :)

P.S. Do you set it to record straight to avi or to .tga’s first?

WiK?

Nice clips but I couldn’t enjoy them as that song was like a knife pentrating my skull after 30 seconds.

Straight to avi usually, but for some reason after the 119th I can no longer do that

Known bug, demo recording broke.

Kovacs I use 1280×720 in window mode to avi the clips, then render in that same resolution using the lagarith lossless codec, the entire avi was 18 gig

Wiiking
