I mean i AM a nazi about extra pointless details on maps – i would have put corrugated stuff everywhere there’s a wooden fence, planks as the walkways, no cracks in the bridge, no logs. I’m a total nazi on that because i’m 100% practical – if it doesn’t have a use, get rid of it mentality.

Must say i havent looked at the map in ages, looking at that video it actaully looks like a map steam would release with enougth character very nice transformation.

Hey all just a minor update about the map’s deadline as i’ve had lots of pms asking when it will be finished!

There will be 1 more update, before the final release of cp_obscure. Will jump from (b4) to cp_obscure_rc1, this will be available to the public for 1 week. For those that have noticed cp_obscure_b4 has been by far THE most stable version, i’ve had the least amount of complaints since i started this project so i’m chuffed to bits.

Keeping in sync with this, the map should be in its final state i.e. cp_obscure before the league(s) start ^_^.

The end is near… a portfolio of various stuff about the map will be available upon rc1 release… Stay tuned ;)

Btw if there are any video editing/directing people out there who would like to contribute to the project let me know as i have 1 job i haven’t got time to do at the moment!

Already on it m8, i’ve done a time lapse of cp1 cp2 and cp3 :-)

Also i need to find someone who knows how to use the “smooth” function for demo’s as i need a “run through” avi from cp1 to cp5 of obscure sorta like what killzone did only witht he official map and a different song.

been really enjoying playing scout on this map. excellant layout looking forward to c1. few things… anychance u could tidy the ramp up on the right hand side at cp3, its quite hard to navigate couple of bumps etc. and also a really small thing, could u make the left hand wall of resup smooth :DDD

The resup wall will be smoothened off, as for the ramp-ish side not quite sure what you mean, a screenshot or two m8 would be cool so i can see what you mean.

Thanks lolage am glad you’ve changed you’re mind, alot of people were put off by it especially the “public” (pickup1) players as it wasn’t pretty enough… alas some have changed their mind so thats a positive thing.

Hyk rc1 will be out in the next day or 2 i believe, i need my usual testers to go through the map though before i release it to the public.

Vlad we’ve managed to squeeze even more fps on middle by about 10%-15%. Problem is we’ve only had 2/3 selective people complain about cp3 when in combat so it’s been hard to find the reason as to why…

nice to hear of the optimization, keep it up. I didnt originally like the map, but over times with the changes made is fast becoming a firm favourite.

heya byte the map looks epic man, ive only played it once and i found it easy to navigate and it played well too..

all the best promoting it, im v.excited to see how you go about it with the video etc and hope it breaks into all tf2 leagues/cups as a favourite.
