I honestly think you’re trying to perfect the map too much. I can’t remember the exact version, but around b3/b4 once the boulders were added onto mid the map was great. Simply tweaking a few things from there would have been perfect.

I think you’re over complicating it, no map is perfect and there are changes to every single map people would make.

Oh, and I don’t think mid needs any central high ground or any of that rubbish. Plenty of other maps don’t have centralised high ground on mid that play well.

Can’t blame a man for trying. I’m sure the map will be as good as it can be when its done too. Hyce is adding things/tweaking things that people are asking for. If it doesnt bode well then its removed.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking advice and trying to make changes but I do think that the mid has gotten worse recently. It doesn’t need a central high-ground or anything for soldiers, those rocks should be for scouts to utilize primarily imo. If you reverted the mid to when the 2 rocks were first made (or maybe made them a little larger like we talked about before) then I think the map would be a very good one.

So, im unhappy with 1 place on mid, the area left to 2nd spawn, it seems to be quite useless, so i have few suggestions

1) Place Health pack + Ammo pack in this area? http://i.imgur.com/AP3GzGn.jpg
2) Move spawn to that area http://i.imgur.com/LXai7oW.jpg also spawn there would be better, i was confused at the start where to go, forward or turn to the right, didn’t have any info where enemy 2nd is
OR 3) Make a path to that place http://i.imgur.com/CbWOTP1.jpg

I just think that area w/e it’s called, is kinda useless, don’t know what others think

And also, maybe put a window on last http://i.imgur.com/JgfD1of.jpg to see more what’s happening?

My point is there will always be something that someone will want changed and tweaked, eventually you need to say “the map is in a place that i’m happy with”. It will never please everyone 100%.

I’ve just been trying a few things because a good group of people have suggested it- it doesn’t seem to be working out, so I think the mid you guys want will be coming back for b8, except with perhaps slightly taller rocks.

Shoosh- I appreciate the roamer spot video, clipping the rock wall is really tedious and awful and no matter how much I change there are always a few more spots there…

I also appreciate the suggestions for that corner of mid, although I’m not sure which ones I should choose to use. I don’t think I’ll add a ramp from banana, there are already four entrances to mid and another might be too many.

Yeah, I liked that idea as well as the healthkit up there. Perhaps not a move of the one from cave, but just put another pill there.

This is probably the last version for a while- I believe I’ve exhausted what is to be learned from PUGS/mixes for the most part and I need to hear from teams playing it to further tweak the map. Barring any gay spots/strange things or obvious “hey fix this asshole” this will be the last new version until after it’s played in the Nations Cup for ETF2L.

CEVO admins, this also means I’d like it if you could make this version the map for week 9 rather than beta 1. Playing beta 1 would not help me at all.

Changes:
Reverted mid to b5 version
Moved forward spawns to the upper corner of mid accross from choke, should be more intuitive
Made the ramps on mid make more sense, changed some of them to displacements
Rotated fences on spire to better cover from choke
Made the small door to banana larger
Added some props in secret/sneaky, clipped it better as well
Detailed upper lobby a bit
Added windows from last looking into upper lobby and lobby
clipping on rockwalls
