I think it wouldnt work on this game, on quake ctf it works because theres no classes and people dont spawn with weapons
CPMA’s NTF (stands for Not Team Fortress, rofl) actually has classes (and each class spawns with different weapons) and flags work as they do in CTF.
just lettin ya kno m8

NTF is even more popular than CTF on #cpmpickup as far as I know.
more ctf maps would be great, but they should be similiar to turbine size-wise, not big but not too small. that’s what makes turbine a pacey map and a fun to play/watch map, in my opinion anyways.
ctf_wildfire_rc works great. What is different in that map is that one intel is capped inside the other, no matter where it is (so if one team holds the enemy intel, the other can’t cap before killing the intel holder), and touch return.

This is my personal experience with ctf maps as well – if they aren’t essentially a turbine clone they don’t really work. Adding more movement options might make it more interesting, but I fear it will be hard to create anything far from a turbine clone.
Hence why I created this new concept which mixes CTF and 5 CP.
Sorry if this was suggested earlier, but IMO the best way to try playing CTF in TF2 is to create separate CTF league with CTF only ruleset – like someone suggested – eg. rocketjumping solly, scouts, 4 scouts, 10 scouts whatever, just make new rules to play CTF, ban classes, otherwise it will be slow and boring game like it is now but in the new environment

If you want to discuss a possible CTF gamemode, fine, but right here I’m trying to get feedback on a 6v6 catered CTF mode.
Yeah, fully understand but unfortunately I don’t think you can do much without some changes in the rules. You can try to force them in the map and/or refine them in the league – and that could be a bit easier
Stlii, just an idea
GL, tho

I know that, and NTF is more popular because the flag lays in the ground and cant be returned, its like tf2 :p
And thats why its more popular

Ehhm, no? Probably I played wrong NTF…
Why not trying and add a point into turbine?
-Starting the game you would have a uncap point at middle, like a koth map.
-Having the point capped would let you do only one thing: being able to cap the intel, without the point you can’t cap it. This would make the mid fight an actual mid fight and not having scouts being able to sneak through banana or something similar to that.
-Teams that have the point capped and that can now have access to the other team intel, have more respawn time, like every def/att map :3 Could have a mechanism similar to koth maps.
-IMO the respawn time of the intel have to be shorten by half or so.
-While the enemy team has your intel, you aren’t able to recap the point at all.
This is just a silly idea that occured me while reading this post…just tell what’s wrong with it :)
I would like to see people liking ctf maps for once :D

Was suggested ages ago. Was denied by many for the complexity.

This complexity reminds me of when Wireplay threw in ctf_converge in Highlander. The amount of people who would try and take the intel to the wrong base… xD

highlander man, highlander.
Hum, maybe it could be a bit complex, but to be honest i think that the community isn’t that dumb where they couldn’t get the concept…. :3
I got another idea (i feel like throwing some sh*t into this thread, sorry), following some of the ideas of converge. Unlike it it would have 2intels and the delivery would be at the enemy base.
Turbine Concept:
Remember if i’am wrong, but turbine has 2 big boxes that are like the ones in granary, right?
Well…what if, there was a middle point (yes, this again), but when capped the enemy colored box could open and show the hidden intel there, free to grab. Then your team would need to do a push into enemy base to deliver it. (In turbine i think delivery placement should be smaller and more adjacent to the staircase, just be harder than a scout sneaking throw the left door while the uber push…)
Now the mechanics on how this could work i’am not too sure, but i’am better not think much more into that if you guys don’t care about this idea :3
If not, i’ll try and come up with some other sh*t.
Note: Can i actualy swear in here? New to the forums…as anyone couldn’t notice :’c
