almost definitely no.

nope, it pretty much only makes the game look cleaner
Couldn’t get this to work with ATI Tray tools, just made my TF2 not load…
If I want the default settings back, do I just set this http://fakkelbrigade.eu/forsaken/webfiles/4 and this http://fakkelbrigade.eu/forsaken/webfiles/6 back to 0?

Did all the 5 steps, replaced my autoexec and started tf2 – nothing changed -.-
check your driver version, if it’s 2xx then rivatuner doesn’t work.
fuck i want it on ati :<

nvm me , driver version is 258 or smth -.- QQ sadface
you can download this: http://www.sl8.eu/files/nvidia.zip
that’s the Tool chris mentioned and I’ve already added the options to select values higher than 3.
1. Open NvidiaInspector.exe
2. Click the Settings button (middle-right) next to Driver-Version
3. Select Team Fortress 2 in the top left corner
4. Set Texture Filtering – LOD-Bias to 10 or 15 (higher means worse textures)
5. hit “Apply” in the top right corner.
This is also better than the RivaTuner thing, because it only affects Team Fortress and you dont need to change the settings everytime you want to play another game without ridculously bad textures.

EDIT: If you don’t feel like downloading te program off my site
download it here:

RT doesn’t work with newer driver versions (I think it breaks with 2xx). Use NVIDIA Inspector instead, it works with 2xx, and it’s better for stuff like this anyway.
extract it and replace the contents of the CustomSettingNames*.xml
with the one from the paste in the quote below. (line 207-214 have been added, if you want to just add those)

the xml with options for higher LOD-Bias added: http://pastie.org/2274851
wth, i guess im an idiot but i cant select tf2 anywhere in the top left only : uploads a screenshot and Monitoring graphics.

middle of the tool, where it says driver version, there is a little button – click it and behold
for ati tray tool
click the icon
3D > settings > additional
and set “Texture LOD adjustement” on 10
its working for me and its very easy to use
i dont see a lot of difference though
also using simple texture is totally pointless.first it doesnt work on sv_pure 2.
and its like using a 1×1 texture on minecraft. I’m not sure but i think that The only difference is that all the polygons / pixels are the same color. It doesnt mean that there is less polygons / pixels or things like that.
