Arx the gun is gay and if you had any decency you would have stopped using it a long time ago.
I never got that. Why would you flame somebody for using the most effective weapon? Isn’t using the most effective option purely competitive?

Valve made a game pretty much balanced without unlocks.
Vanilla TF2 is balanced?

Yes crits are totally balanced right? i mean THE MORE DAMAGE YOU DO THE MORE OFTEN THEY COME RITE?
I simply think that this community is too scared to make any changes to their play style. This community wants to play the same game 24 hour a day, run the same strategies for years and years and know every counter to every possible situation. While that is fine for a significant number of players right now, in the future, people will get bored of doing the same thing over and over, players will leave the game, no new players will start playing the game competitively and the game’s life span will die out a crap load faster. These unlocks, maps, game modes etc… all keep the game fresh. They add a new card to the table, something else to consider new strategies and counters to develop.
I can see your personal opinion on this, but don’t assume everyone thinks like you do. To some people, fun means control of the game, mastering a game instead of learning new stuff all the time. A game doesn’t need to change all the time to be worth playing.
The most popular games change the least. This applies to board games, traditional sports and even e-sports (StarCraft, CS1.6, Quake).
The Starcraft metagame shifts constantly to this day. Don’t talk out of your ass.
All games constantly evolve, but it should be just that – evolution. Changes that occur naturally, piece by piece, stretched over a long period of time so that the players don’t even notice anything is changing; not random interjections of bullshit whenever valve need some extra sales for their christmas bonus.

We have a nocrits var we can use right? And besides that; with the current enforced class limits is pretty balanced. Yes, 5 demo’s and 1 medic would fucking roll. But that’s why we have class limits. Unless you are going to tell me that the new unlocks made it more balanced :D. Ah what the hell, I’m not even going to argue about it. I think we all can agree we’d rather have all unlocks removed (except the medic ones).

@Koeitje: Yes I realise that Quake and TF2 are different, I’m not retarded. My point was that someone was saying that CPMA “ruins” the game like the CoD promods by restricting the game, and I was simply pointing out that the two promods (cpma vs cod’s) are entirely different. And that the implementation of CPMA is pretty much the ideal for a promod – i.e. actually improving the game, of course games like Quake, etc. are much easier to balance as everyone has instantaneous access to the same matchups.

Why reply to me then? I wasn’t judging any of the pro-mods, I was simply stating those cannot be compared to tf2.

Ehh what the hell, I didn’t know you smoked pot Bash.
I was talking about the game itself, as a product, not strategies, tactics or metagame.
His point was that the unlocks keep the game fresh, while I disagree. I think it’s exactly the metagame that should shift, and if the game works, it shouldn’t have to be changing all the time in the form of new content/updates.

I got an stupid habit: Jumping every time as the medic, for most improved dodging and invulnerability.
And then TDH Soldier came! He was on the other side of the map, definetly Very high range. He shooted a rocket with extremly insane haste in to the my foot right after that when i jumped. 2sec later, -150hp because of minicrit, ubercharge lost. YOU FAIL!
I love new weapons, it’s much funnyest to play now, but valve should definetly fix these minicrits.
Improved razorback for medic imo

What are you talking about? Magnus Carlsen said he loves the new Pawn unlockables.
Starcraft hasn’t remained the same since release. Things have been changed. The biggest most significant one being broodwar. That could be considered adding several new ‘unlocks’. Zerg didn’t call for medics to be banned, they invented the mutalisk micro we see today. The game is better.
Starcraft post, couldn’t resist ;)

yeah but chess is shit and boring and in tf2 i can kill things with an overpowered rocket launcher
Seems some people here cant see the pozitive thing about the new launcher…valve did it to improve the competitive part. Why I say that?
I say that becauze just think about this.Pub people get the new rocket launcher…they experiment it and they see they can actualy do shit with it -> they learn about airshots -> they get bored of pub -> they learn about competitive part -> etf2l -> we got the comunity bigger and bigger
