I think admins should let you rematch :D

Totally agree with OP.
Thats something obvious and that should’ve been done from the beggining.
Will ETF2L adopt that system? Certainly not, too much envy and low IQ around here…

How you can advocate diminished sentences for admitting after what i’ve said is beyond me.

He probably didn’t read anything after the OP.
Gotta say, your ideas sound decent. As an NA player, your anti-cheat system terrifies me. The whole debacle with Joske doesn’t do it any favors in my eyes, either.
imho
the case of YYT and boomeh is similar to the one of Infedel of Cdc(they supported a cheater in the matches) they got banned for 2 seasons and a lifetime ban on their player it is right that YYT got the same treatment they’ve got even if them were in div 3 and not in 1
like YYT
law is equal for everyone, dont use 1 weight and 2 measures
btw the idea of haunter is nice:maybe let’s try to use it for the next season

Deleted off-topic replies. Good topic Haunter.
for all I care about this…
I’ll just advice that next time people better not be cheating.
It is true that the team probably shouldnt die for one guy, but thats how it goes in this game.
If faggots didnt cheat, there wouldnt be any problem but since people do and not everyone is banned in time, I think its right that who is caught stays the fuck out of my league.
At this point comes the knowledge the other players have of the team which was was forced to drop by a ban: I’m pretty sure that anyone with a little experience will not consider YYT a “clan of cheaters” (there is plenty of those every evening in IRC and they still manage to play somehow even with more than half players banned in etf2l) so the situation should cool down after a bit.
Bans should stay for two years tho and its up to the other people to decide if playing with the clan who had the cheater again… I dont think there is any rulechange needed
I agree that is is nice to see a clear and well written topic without flaming and stuff.
Personally I agree with Haunter’s first suggestion, but not with the second.
As Vlad drac and others point out everyone would just say they cheated and thereby reduce their ban, so i don’t see the point, but if that idea can be refined somehow maybe it could be something to take into consideration
Maybe if the cheaters have to give their cheats to us and describe where and when they have been using that cheat in matches and so on it would be a slightly better idea.
However, there is still the problem that the cheater could just lie all along to reduce his ban..
The first suggestion about the re-matches sounds nice.
There will be a bit of a problem though if a cheater is caught in the end of the season and you have a large number of team wanting to do replays at once.

This is not true.
In the case you mention, the team had the player in question banned for cheating the previous season — then let him back in under a new name and Steam id the season after. If YYT decided to field Boomeh under a different steam id and name next season, I’m pretty sure they’d end up receiving the same kind of severe punishment.
Why is it so hard for people to stick to the truth around here :(
I was askin’ myself why there isn’t any news on ETF2L homepage, considering that a “TOP IDIOT” player has been caught cheating…
….really strange, cause if he was another random player we should see a great news on it…
I don’t like this….

gotta agree 100% TBH.
Boomeh was banned not too many hours ago in ETF2L.
Sure it seems no one wrote any news about it during the night between Sunday and Monday, but people need to sleep.
I’m sure it will be announced in time. Besides, “everyone” already knows about it from the discussions and YYT’s own announcement.
The normal punishment I suppose its 2 years now, I was thinking in for example whoever admits to use cheats to have his sentence reduced to half of the time, 1 year. Motivate a player to admit the facts is good for several reasons:
– Avoiding people to accuse the league of banning them without proofs
– Avoiding clan players of embarrassing themselves defending someone that cheats
While that sounds good on paper, I’m feeling confident in predicting that admitting to cheats is going to be obligatory in the future then, people will admit to things they may not have done just to get their sentence cut in half (and they would be stupid not to), so that system is kind of pointless. What exactly would such a system try to achieve anyway? Help found trust in admins in the public eye? Because that’s the only thing it might do (and not even that, really).
Why are you discussing the time he gets banned?
He cheated = Ban. permanently
Don’t cheat and you are fine. It’s simple in my eyes.
The thing with default lose and penalty points for the team is a bit more complicated.
Maybe a vote? Only division 1 teams. every team counts as 1. If they want to rematch or leave it as it was.
