Im sorry if someone has already asked this, but am I the only one finding the polls confusing? Lets take Huntsman votes (11:00 21.8):
Limit 0 (43%, 237 Votes)
Limit 2 (32%, 174 Votes)
Limit 1 (25%, 137 Votes)
clearly both sides can argue they’ve won the poll. If youre against the huntsman you can say the limit 0 won. But if you want it to be implemented you have a clear majority (25% + 32% = 57%)
wouldn’t it make more sense to ask first if the huntsman should be allowed, and then limit it?
I hope that the admins won’t just implement the rule that has the most votes.
The fact that people are actually voting for things like razorback limit1 proves that their opinion should not be taken seriously imo.
The whole poll is EXCEEDINGLY unclear to the majority of people. The limit 0 votes display this:
Ambassor, dead ringer, huntsman and jarate have limit0 as the most voted, and cloak and dagger has 34% voted for limit 0.
It’s just ridiculous. All weapons save for sandman should be allowed, and then the only weapons that shouldn’t be allowed instantly but should be taken up for revision is the use of Jarate and Force-a-Nature. The other weapons have no function that a majority would consider frustrating or force alternative tactics on the opposing team rather than just allow new ones for the team using them (jarate forces a team to be defensive etc, fan forces scouts/heavies to approach with more caution).

If 34% votes for ZERO occurrence of the weapon (and anyone screaming 0 means NO LIMIT has obviously not played this game for very long, since that would be -1), that means that 66% has voted for SOME KIND OF INCLUSION of the item. The votes are a semi-good indicator (and I do feel that’s a bit niceish to say) at best, not some absolute tool for how to shape the future format.
In the end, I feel comfortable predicting Day and Deneusbeer are not going to make final decisions that makes as much people as possible unhappy, or feeling everything is going in the wrong direction.

Allowing the sandman mid-season was… unfortunate.. but was remedied after massive (perhaps on the border to psychotic) protests. This time around, before any new weapons are let in, there are VOTES and they are done BETWEEN SEASONS.
Either way it is being done, it will make some people feel the need to cry foul — in the end, it will be arranged to be “as good as humanly possible”.
Then we take it from there.
I might ragequit if I happen to meet some faggot daring using that bow in an official match.

The point isn’t that I think the poll itself just exhibits a retarded mentality, but I wholeheartedly believe that it displays inaccurate labelling of the poll itself, and that many people misinterpret what limit 0 means. I can’t think of anyone I’ve spoken with who genuinely think razorback should be banned from league play, and therefore while you say it gives you a fairly decent indicator, I find it to be inaccurate as a whole in light of this, and would urge the administration to discard this poll and start a new one with better labelling of options to allow for more accuracy.

Oh Im sorry I was misguided into thinking this was a pure democracy. Well then I assume with the numbers I posted that the logical conclusion for the poll is that the huntsman should be available for league play in season 6 with a limit of 1. Maybe next time it should follow with a warning label.
and ka0s, please dont include actual weapon discussion. This thread was intended to clear up how exactly the polls work.
Braffle: I wouldn’t be able to answer how the polls are interpreted, since I’m not the one doing it. I’m just offering a “second view” on your question as to HOW it might be interpreted.

Why shouldn’t any of these weapons be used in ETF2L? Polls weren’t required for classes in the past, and they’re just as useless as these ones. Talk about making TF2 more diverse, you won’t even allow someone to use an alternative to a fucking SMG…

read gryzors post, it explains why every new weapon now needs a poll to avoid death threats at admins.
good point to call a vote about the new weapons to avoid rage at the admins. but i think it would be a better idea to vote like we did when the demo limit was made.
every clan posts one time about the weapons.. yes, i see that a vote about 6 weapons is much more complicated than just a demo limit.. but as mentioned before the vote options were often mistaken. Also the poll is anonymous and therefore those fun voters feel free to vote bullshit… just a suggestion.
also i could post so much about the new weapons and how balanced almost all of them are, but i will keep that out of this topic =)
