no teams are actually allowed to WIN a tier! If they’re going to win it they MUST be too good and be placed in the tier above!!! 2ND PLACE FOR EVERYONE
Zoob will be pleased.

The scheduling seems to strongly favour Thursday. Is this deliberate? Can they not be spread out more so fans can watch more games?

Thursday is the equivalent of Sunday from Season 19, there will always be more games on Thursday than the others. There was a majority of matches played on Sunday before as well, this is no different.

Sure but if teams can pick 3 days you can just intersect them to create fixtures and there’s no reason for one day to be favoured. Before you could say “Default date: Sunday. This is standard, shut up” but now a ‘default date’ has already taken into account any disagreement (unless there is no intersection, which would be rare). If you see. Means you can spread games out more.
That would be good for prem, definitely. Perhaps only making an effort for prem this season would be the way to go, as it requires a lot less work than doing it for everyone and allows more games to be casted without these troublesome double-headers.

First of all, there has to be a default day to set any matches to that neither team have submitted days for. This is Thursday.
Not every game has 3 days from each team submitted, and not every game has more than 1 option for a day to play. If a match does have more than 1 overlapping days, we have created a list of the days to prioritize a default date from. This list was created by looking at the positives and negatives of each day (eg – Monday and Wednesday are UGC days, Sunday is less than 24h after the fixture is created etc). The system was created so that in the event of a choice of default date, we would choose the one that will generally cause the least problems. It also means its easier for teams to play in UGC if they wish.
There’s always going to be plenty of games in every day even if you spread them out evenly (which is entirely impractical anyway). I don’t see a problem with the current way, but it’s Week 1 so it’s still early.

Prem is still using the old scheduling system since they are still on Round Robin. Scheduling is pretty much beyond our control for Prem, most of the time Prem teams can come to an agreement without a default date.
Is week 2 seeded too so seeded winners play each other and nonseeded losers play each other?

Seeded winners play seeded winners.
Seeded losers either play seeded losers or non-seeded winners.
Non-seeded winners either play non-seeded winners or seeded losers.
Non-seeded losers play non-seeded losers.
