This is silly, christs sake fraac… Its not about fucking PRIDE, people want what, 3 seasons a year? You cant have that with the playoffs as they already said.
If you want to have the entire playoff over a weekend gl with that, I’m sure a lot of people are availible and there will be no defaults at all :D

And networked stats of thousands of them? Even if a player is good he’s most likely not good enough to carry div 6 if he has no previous experience so it’s about the team in general. I dont know how many new stable div 6 teams sign up but apparently you do. Its an ENTRY level div to show that you’re capable, pretty much everyone starts there , we’ve all done it. I dont understand why you want to have a playoff for div 6 anyway, the whole point of it is to progress forward, you won your div be happy and start munching on div 5.

If you want it, sort it out yourself and propose a good solution that doesnt fuck up everything and is plausible, not a playoff for every div over a single weekend which clearly isnt going to work out.

If you’re good enough to roll Div6 then you’re probably a low-mid div5 team so just pick div5 its not rocket science, you’ll actually become better players/team because of this. Div6 is just a division for fun teams who don’t practice or completely new players, just have semi capable aim and don’t dribble too much and its easy to get out of.

You say you’re new to league play, well welcome, its exactly the same as playing pcws so thats irrelevant.

Playing these extra playoffs at a weekend instead solves more problems than it creates?…. riiiiight. All this does is create extra work for the admins who already have limited time with really no gain.

Kortz: that’s simply wrong. If you announce the playoff weekend at the start of the season almost everyone turns up, because it’s a chance for them to actually win something and not just get promotion, which is far less enticing than you believe (as I said, if promotion is all that matters why even play unless you’re in Prem?) . This is basic human psychology. Have consecutive weekends for each division so VTV can cast them.

Div6 is just a division for fun teams who don’t practice or completely new players

Tapley, either you aren’t aware of current policy or many teams have been put in the wrong division this season. Note that the etf2l definition of ‘completely new player’ includes everyone with no league experience, not players lacking skill or 6v6 experience.

Each prem team plays 7 officials. Each div6 team plays 7 officials too. Why do you think you’re allowed to have more fun than anyone else?

A. People won’t play weekends espcially if there is lots of games, people in div6 are most likely to not have lots of spare time as most teams play for fun or are community teams.

B. you do win somthing you get a gold cup .jpg in your profile and the chance to play better people next season and progress.

C. Lol co-ordinating 7 consecutive weekends of casting?? Do you even know what that would require??

The only people interested in watching div6 teams being cast are the 12 people playing that game at the time, no one else. Do you need attention and made to feel special but arnt getting it because you’re in Div6?

So a team of div4 skilled players who’ve played loads of 6v6 but never in a league, according to you would still start in div6? Well as you love to keep telling everyone “That’s simply wrong”

Seven weeks for 5 divisions, only one of which has more than a few subdivisions? You need to think before you speak.

Of course no one would be interested in watching something that isn’t properly promoted, that’s why American tf2 is by far the best spectacle. That has nothing to do with the skill of the players.

Somone get me Cube on the phone now! Tell him i want a 5 minute div6 frag movie with Valve blog posts and vanilla articles galore.
Watching people with poor tactics, gamesense and aim is not interesting at all, and no amount of promotion can fix that. You really need to think before you speak.

You really seem like you have an inferiority complex and are really upset that no one wants to cast your games and you should be getting all the babes. Tough break kid you’re terribad at computer games.

Fraac, you could host a one day invitational cup for the winners of each Division 6 Subgroup, independent of ETF2L. That way no one can accuse you of not putting your money where your mouth is, and you get your ‘ultimate champion’/extra fun.

I have to say that I’ve participated in a couple of one day cups (for highlander, which means far more hair pulling since you have more players lying drunkenly in bed rather than playing) and I’ve really enjoyed them. ETF2L also run their own One Night Cups, so clearly there must be interest in them, so I’d imagine that you could get some (but probably not all) of the winners to participate. But the key thing here is that you are offering them an opportunity to play, not forcing them into it. Not everyone is as arsed/they have stuff to do at the weekends.

If you started now you could get the core of the organisation done, and see if you can find some casters; if VTV don’t want to do it, why not find/cajole someone that you think would be good at it/appreciate the opportunity to cast some meaningful games? As has been mentioned above, there is generally less interest in lower level play because, duh, it’s lower level. That doesn’t mean that it’s less meaningful to those who play in the games, but you just can’t expect other people to want to watch it. Organisation might be a little more awkward since you don’t know how many people would be interested in the first place (and who they are!) and whether they can be relied upon to actually show up…but that’s what planning is for!

I’m off to play in such a cup now. Rob from Team Awesome has put one together, and even roused Salamancer from his American slumber to cast some games. You could make something awesome yourself.

Don’t you think it becomes increasingly unlikely that higher skilled players would be unknown to admins? I said that the provisional divisions 5 and 6 have apparently been chosen based more on league experience than skill, and I offered help here in future.

Well as you love to keep telling everyone “That’s simply wrong”

You really have a problem with counting.

Bulow, someone actually proposed that to me before I posted here; it’s not even my idea. I can easily organise it myself and get it promoted, casted and prized, I just think it would be cooler if it was part of etf2l’s official league structure.

Err so teams who don’t want to be placed in div6 just because they’re new can submit screenshots of them beating low div5 teams? So this makes your point completely invalid. IF you get put in div6 just because you’re a new team and you dont provide evidence to the contrary its your own fault.

I can count fine i was just including prem playoffs and prem relegations into my counting as 2 seperate weeks. I like how this is the only thing you can respond to as opposed to all my other valid points that have bested you. You’re either Pennyfarming in disguise or you have intelligence issues (please note these two are both definitely not mutually exclusive)

Organized with Challonge, promoted through Steam groups spam, casted by HiGPS, watched by 3,5 people and prized with 10 pounds. Living the dream.
