Getting Start - Help

Evening all,
I’m trying to get into a team for one of the lower divisions to start out in the ETF2L. I’ve read this post which I found to be really helpful:
http://etf2l.org/forum/league/topic-12510/?recent=274229
But my problem is how to get the ball rolling, It seems hard to get into a team if you haven’t been in one before, understandably. I’m a pretty good player overall I just need some guidance on how to get into that first team as I’m sure everyone on here at some point has been through the same process.
Apologies if this has been answered before I’m still a bit overwhelmed at the epic size of these forums.
Thanks for the help
Deem
Are you looking for a highlander or a 6s team?
if its the latter start adding div6 teams yourself from http://etf2l.org/recruitment/teams/
you can also add me and i’ll answer any questions you have. also regardless of your skill, having a good attitude helps a lot in getting accepted.
And cos i didn’t mention it above I’ve tried posting in the recruitment section, but haven’t had any replies. Posted 3 times. So is it a case of sticking it out or trying something else?
Some suggestions:
Put LFT in your name
Play lobby often
Network by making new friends who can often put you onto their teams if they like you
Do mixes such as 6v6 newbie mix or colony / SaF mix
If you’re sincerely good then someone will notice you and pick you up.
Or just start a team with your friends
edit: just checked your profile and you’ve only got 100 hours of tf2. that is an instant turnoff to most teams so you might want to lay down some cred. just a suggestion

Thanks for the replies guys will try these out, I’m aiming for 6v6 but would be happy playing highlander games also as I’m mainly looking into it for the teamplay aspect.

I didn’t say post, I said add
directly
for example this tteam http://etf2l.org/recruitment/128784/
Just add the leader “LarryPounder” and ask him for a trial. Also set your profile to private so you won’t get an instant decline because you have 100 hours.
Add me on steam for sick mixes
Can highly recommend you to play some newbiemixes.

Just join this group, and watch out for popups. As soon as one comes up, click it, and sign up. Everything you need to know is on the groups main page.
