Season 8 Medals?

Medal whore here.
If I’ve understood correctly, 1st 2nd and 3rd place teams from Season 8 will be awarded ingame medals for their division.

Will these medals be awarded to players who have switched team after the end of the season?

I like shiny things and am deeply concerned that I may miss out on more shiny things

Welcome to another great part of the Season 8 revelations. The title gives it away a little, but we forgot to mention one final thing: we have more prizes. For whom, we hear you ask? Well, for everyone of course!

Considering there are winners in all divisions, we’re thrilled to announce that Valve will be providing us with some great in-game community prizes for everyone participating in Season 8 to have a shot at!

Every participant of Season 8 will receive a medal. Not sure about the gold/silver/bronze thing for Season 8 but it’s definitely in for Season 9. “Every participant” will be something like every member of a team taking part in Season 8, who was in that team at some point during Season 8.

So let’s say a team that wins a division drops after the season. Does the 2nd placed team get gold medals now?

Not my call, but I would say: of course not. Why would you get a 1st place medal for not winning a division? Why would it matter what happens after the season.
