It’s such a fucking arbitrary win condition and simply not in the spirit of the game. I’ve played entire 30 minute rounds that ended in 1 cap, how is 10 minutes divined as round time of the gods?
Or 4 minutes x 3?

I can’t see how you can go wrong with introducing overtime, just an added ten minutes to the game and get the overall scores – obviously the point system would be the same as such GC means 1 point deduction from the winner.
Can’t really argue that its time consuming either, if there is a match on the line with game point then I’d expect everyone would play it.
Overtime is used in football, CS 1.6, CSS, so its nothing new, and I think it would suite TF2.
PS: Obviously if overtime results in a draw once again, another ten minutes are played.
I dont want to start a massive heated debate, and I dont mean to offend with what ‘m going to say. But lets be honnest, if this wasn’t a prem div match, this would never be talked about, tbh its only because it was the prem players who had this. Sorry but thats my £0.02 about that that
with that being said, maybe the rules can be tweaked to make GC work, I joked about having a 6v6 scout sudden death for overtime, as funny as it would be, its a bit too silly for overtime/GC. The problem is turtling (yes….sp I know), so the idea is to try and stop that from happening. My idea comes from what they do in ice hockey: when they play OT they play with a man less on each team, so its 5v5 instead of 6v6. Maybe having that would make GC interesting, ban the 2 heavies, ban the medics, 5 on 5 with no medics. Maybe it will keep turtling, maybe, but without the aid of a medic you’re on your own as such, health kits will be like gold I know, but when you have no health pickups, picking up that wipeout will be vital
I know having that would cause some problems with the 6th player dropping out, but all Im doing is dropping an idea down

this is the best solution ofc. the chances you get a GC longer then 10/15 minutes are 1%, and the team who get the mid point at the start is encouraged to continue to the last point to close the game, instead of turtling at cp4.
and about Gravelpit: the 3rd round should be considered the same of a Golden Cap, so if the final score is 2-1, then 2 points to winners and 1 to losers. 3 points in case you win 2-0 only.

bo3 in capping mid, it can’t be different than a mid fight played every round. If you play too passive, the other team will simply crush you.

YES!
a golden cap is just that: a single round win for 1 team. we can debate time limits and such, but at the end of the day the rule must be the first team to win 1 round.
Here’s a suggestion guys and girls, why not call it “golden rule” and make it so that the team has to win by 2 clear rounds with a timelimit of 15mins?
So for example the match ended 4-4, *apply golden rule* now either team has to win 6-4.
Just a thought :)

What if it gets 5-5 then 6-5 and eventually 6-6. Do they need to score 6-8 then to win?

Byte, the issue is not the number of caps or whatever. The issue is the completely arbitrary rule that the one that holds middle wins the golden cap round. Might as well let the team that jumped less during the game win the golden cap round. Or maybe the team with the better taste in hats.

If it ends in a draw after 30mins just put it to a public vote and we can text in with who we think deserves the win more
