My demo downloaded someones medic POV thinking it was STV and accidentally overwrote his config, i feel your pain.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THIS! I have considered making a thread like this soo many times. Plz just label the demos correctly guys, demo nerds like me really appreciate the uploads and actually watch the demos :).
you can usually find out if its pov or stv by looking at the filesize of the demo. in general stvs are about 10mb and pov 20+mb
/signed, gets pretty annoying
Also, could the demo system be updated so we can see whose POV demo it is before downloading it and booting up TF2?
it says whos demo it is on the match page, look here

One of the improvements to the site that I’m hoping to get done at some point is the ability for admins to modify whether a demo is pov or stv, so I can go through them and fix the incorrectly tagged ones. As it stands, we could delete them but I’d rather not force people to upload them again, so we just let them through even though they’re wrong.

Ahh, cool, I’ve just been looking on the team pages for demos. Thanks for the heads up
