ETF2L Radio vs TF2TV?

Ok, I’ll bite.
Someone give me a single genuine benefit to TF2TV of teaming up with ETF2L. The name being already known I can see, but that in itself isn’t really enough. However if they stay seperate, they get all the benefits of independence. This allows them to:
– cast whatever they want
– say whatever they want
– criticise whoever they want
– branch off into other areas
– get individual sponsorship deals
– become far more well-known in the long term
– not be affected by ETF2L internal politics
– maintain their own identity and style
– not have their image tarnished by bad decisions made by other people in something totally unrelated
I can think of a few more, but they are really tiny macro PR things that border on psychology, so its not really worth going into.
Point being, they have wayyyy more to gain in the long run by staying independent.

I don’t think they should merge, but it would be nice if they’d stay in contact with one another so that the only 2 games to be casted for several days aren’t on the same day at the same time.

I think the some of you are forgetting some key points here:
– ETF2L Radio was formed by Mole (Former Admin of ETF2L – Was he the head admin?) Anyhow, after discussing the idea between ourselves, Arx and myself were the first casters for the radio.
– ETF2L Radio was chosen as the name as it was Moles idea to get it associated, casting JUST ETF2L Games. This was also fair considering Mole was the provider of the how (server setup, relays)
– In time, this has now expanded, Mole has left, more casters hence more games across different leagues.
– Since that date I have minimal first hand experience with the politics behind it.
TF2 TV is a rival station / show which should not link with ETF2L Radio. As Kaidus said, ideally it would be nice for them to increase variety but at the end of the day it is still competition…the public will chose who they want to listen to or watch.
Partnering ETF2l wouldn’t help us that much, as its like saying why dosn’t vanillatf2 partner etf2l and post its news here? :)
That said i wouldn’t say we’re in “Competition” either, that implys we are soley trying to beat them and cast better/more popular casts. Although quality popular casts is what we’re trying to do, we’ll still happily promote etf2l radio and what their doing as i hope they’d do the same for us.
S’all about giving the community quality products and variety and we shouldn’t detriment that by trying to “compete” with others.
We’re doing our thing they are doing theirs, as long as you guys like it thats all that matters.
as long as someone somewhere uploads vods of good matches regularly, i will support them. i would rather watch tf2 matches at work and play tf2 when i’m at home
I like having multiple casts. its fun to have variety. and if the casts and demos are being uploaded then why not count that aswell?
basicly if there is two matches at the same time, then i would see both of em. not just at the same time.
Tapley – Well I agree not just ‘compete’ BUT competition is the only reason why things improve and why people do better themselves! :)
Either way you see it, variety is good :)

Made me laugh :D

Insanely accurate words.
110% spot on Adam. First time I’ve ever said that about you :p
ETF2L Radio were being cunts, so TF2 TV had to step up!
One benefit of a merger would be more added value for the ETF2L brand, which can only be a good thing in terms of sponsorships etc.
Obviously I’m not saying a few casters + video streaming == $$$ , but perhaps in the bigger picture the community as a whole can achieve more through collaboration than competition?

I hope this doesn’t come across wrong, but is it not possible, just maybe, that a few guys can get together and do some casting just simply because they enjoy casting, instead of having to take it on as a second unpaid job for the benefit of the community? If it helps the community, fantastic, but honestly, these guys are just doing something they really enjoy.
There’s nothing wrong with that.

Stop being faggots and work together
‘Stop being faggots and provide content of the highest quality you can’ more like. Skyride has a point, independence + enjoyment = quality.
tbh nonsens, stay seperated and cast different games and give more offer to the community.
I cant watch any of them and 99% of the rest of the community has probably the same problem. They are playing games themselves at night.
I’d say byte should join TF2TV and cast the big games.
Then let etf2lradio rot.
