Well tonight both casters casted different games and it turned out that ETF2L Radio had on average about 100 listeners whereas TF2TV had about 15/20? It was a shame to see that TF2TV had so little amount of listeners after all the work they are doing recently.

After listening to TF2Radio’s 2nd podcast they say they need more casters so why not just partner up with ETF2L? Have a tab on here for TF2TV and merge the two together – I know this easier said than done but worth a try. I don’t think TF2 is big enough yet to have two competing which each other.

Just my opinion anyway.

The match tf2tv wanted to cast was cancelled so most people went to the etf2l radio cast. So the numbers dont really say much.

In quake live we have loads of ‘active’ commentary:

– levelup tv (english europe)
– holysh1t tv (english europe )
– esl tv (english europe & american)
– quakelive tv (american)
– esl radio (german)
– goodgame tv (russian)
– hitpoint tv (german)
– advines (german)

people like variety

There were alot more spectators for our game before Fruit cancelled, we just got a last minute official against nitrose so tf2tv had something to cast. And tbh they should partner up and I dont know why they haven’t yet.

competition is good :)

I understand that but from my understanding doesn’t Quake Live have an a lot bigger community?

Yeah it seems the ideal. they need more casters, so by merging they will gain byte+dave? – problem solved.

they casted different games, different levels, choice is good. remember tf2tv is a new project, while etf2l radio is firmly established, as well etf2l radio can post annoucements on etf2l.org which obviously is the hub of euro tf2.

edit – what nvc said about Quake

nope, alot smaller – just more accepted to people in other games

so far you guys have:

– etf2l.radio (english europe)
– tf2 tv (english europe)
– n2o tv (german)

not sure what else, but it’s a nice start!

Unfortunately our game was cancelled right as it was about to start as Rafe Allen had morning sickness and decided to call it off for fear of losing his baby (serious note – get well soon buddy!). Thus we weren’t going to be casting a game, so Pledge sent the people in mumble over to ETF2L Radio so they could still enjoy a great cast.

We then found out Rockit were going to play against Nitrose after managing to arrange their ESL official in about 3 minutes (unbelievable, since I’ve never seen a team arrange a game so quickly!). So with the people that were left and the fact that we’d be producing a nice VOD afterwards, we decided we’d have some fun and cast the ESL game anyway. I’m glad we did as it was an awesome game which included some epic double pyro attacking on the last point of Gullywash from Nitrose (utter fail but lolol.)

The actual stats of people watching were a variance of 30-50 on the STV and Comedian said he had a steady 30-40 people on Livestream. So what’s that 60-90 people? I think that’s a pretty decent number for an impromptu game.

Either way, I’m sure the spectators of each game had a great experience and I hope that was the case for everyone. I for one am very much looking forward to watching the game that Byte casted :)

Ah I see, fair enough then. Didn’t really understand the circumstances…

I like to have the choice of seen lots of matches rather than being locked to the main prem game that is going. Choice is good and variety in what you want to watch.

I watched tf2.tv as I wanted to watch rockit it was nice to have the choice of uv if I wanted to watch them.

Doesnt stop them joining forces though does it ? maybe collaborate on one game a week ? and then the other days when btye/dave are busy they can cast lower games etc?

Wanna thank Nitrose for playing us on such short notice (sorry C2, for stealing your pcw :D), normally its a bitch to arrange these things. Was fun.

if they join forces than only one game will get casted at a time probably. coz they will inevitably get lazy after a while. if they stay separate then we will see more stuff casted

this. The great thing is more teams are getting cover by casts which allows the whole community to get involved and not just the high level action.
