Dear ETF2L, i’m playing pyro in a highlander team. It’s really anoying to play etf2l with a slowpoke flamethrower. Degreaser is just a tuned up flamethrower version with less damage and a faster weapon switch, but it’s much more fun to play with. I don’t think that degreaser is a threat to gameplay balance. What do you think? Fellow pyros, should etf2l admins allow degreaser?
Yes, slapping people with the axetingusher has never been as fun :D
i accidentally subscribed to this thread via rss while trying to reply to it and i forget how to delete rss feeds so can you please delete this thread admins, since the issue of pyro unlocks is so pressing i imagine you’ll see this post soon enough.
ETF2L admins banned all polycount weapons because they haven’t yet been fully tested in a competitive environment.
Be happy that the pre-polycount unlocks are allowed.
Also, whining about allowing weapons does not help, as the admins are generally stubborn, and they (hopefully) have a good reason of banning a weapon. (or a collection of weapons)
you honestly think being able to do ~200 damage in less than half a second is balanced?
no.
The decision to ban the new unlocks has absolutely nothing to do with their effect on gameplay (positive or negative). It’s because they have come out halfway through the season, so we can’t have half the games being played with one set of unlocks and half played with another. Not forgetting that it still takes a reasonable amount of time to both get and learn to play with / against new unlocks. There simply isn’t time to do this during an ongoing competition.
