Sure it’s stupid but it’s easy to think nothing of it when you get a link from someone you’ve played the game with for some time, especially if you’ve spoken to them a lot recently. You just trust it and don’t notice.

It only takes you to be off the ball for a second at the wrong time to make the mistake. It’s definitely not hacking but I sympathise with people who got tricked by it.

The site doesnt look random at all, it looks exact like the steamcommunity.com site. And if some guy you play with or a friend you trust, its not weird if you press the link ;)

I would not trust an out-of-the-blue link from anyone without getting verification of its context and without seriously checking out the website before entering any details it wants.

Seriously, how stupid can people be? This is straightforward stuff.
