I agree with this. Whenever I play as Natasha heavy I feel like a huge faggot (bring in the jokes) for slowing everybody the fuck down.
I do agree with you, especially with the ‘huge faggot’ part.
Heavy impacts the game too much from a distance at which he shouldn’t be that effective. At a far distance the bullets should only do damage, not slow down the pushing team immensely.
Oh, and just incase:
ups: can I post my opinion in the “Ban Natascha” topic on etf2l, oh great one?
xzar.idk?: ok u may
I think it’s like what valve spoke about some time ago regarding the sniper and huntsman unlock – that (new) players don’t like to feel there was nothing they could have done better to have improved their chances of not dying on their last life.
With the original FaN it was hated because you could be held in mid air by one pellet and then usually receive a meatshot which you had no chance of dodging.
With TDH people didn’t like it because regardless of airstrafing or whatever it was still significantly easier to airshot a jumping player than with the normal rocket launcher and the result of doing so was far more greatly rewarded than the original weapon.
This time around the Natascha is getting used and not being able to move at all while the enemy demo fires stickies at your or an enemy sniper takes an easy headshot at you (speaking as a medic at least) is incredibly frustrating since the only thing you can do to avoid it is to completely hide.
TDH hasn’t ever really gained popularity because it was accused of slowing the game down by restricting rocket/sticky jumping. If now I have to hide every time there is a heavy even in a huge area like last point on granary then the game becomes a hell of a lot more boring for me.
The full time pyro is working out pretty good. I really enjoy playing it, I’m getting better. Can’t expect to suddenly become as good with a pyro as say I am with a soldier with only 60 total hours playing the class. Maybe if I hit a similar 300ish then it would be a good time to judge, but I’m always improving, playing it on publics and maybe when I get better a team would want to take me using it… maybe not… I won’t lose sleep :)
“How do you adapt to new weapons coming every month if you’re still finding new ways to play with and versus standart weapons?”
You adapt on the spot, dynamic play, not set play. A good player should be able to make snap decisions based on what their opponent is doing/using in that particular moment.
Changing the game each month keeps it fresh. These game changes have to stop at some point, then we can go through the stage where it starts to get stale over time. How about we keep it ‘fresh’ for as long as possible rather than try to kill it off early
AcidReniX speaks mostly the truth!

That’s how it should be, but you are forgetting the problem comes down to half this community wants to only play the same 2 maps, with the same tactics, and classes, and anything different to that must be banned immediatly. if it wasn’t banned it would involve them engaging their brains, and they don’t want to do that, they want to play on automatic

Which is fine if you can change weapons on the spot, as with more unlocks it becomes a case of each item hard countering another.

you change weapon at resupply cabinet, to counter their choice, which means they will try and counter your counter, which sounds like a game i’d want to play.
much more than the current we’re losing the mid fight what do we do…. get beat 5-0 go to irc and get another game
Is the long range slow really that much of an issue?
He barely hits anything, so there isn’t all that much slowing
If you get at shot at by the rest of the team, while slowed from a range, you are in either of these situations:
1) You’re on your own vs the other team, in which case you deserve to be killed.
2) You have your team with you, in which case you have an advantage since the heavy will be doing very little damage from range.
Might be that I missed something tho, do let me know if I did.
Suggestion: If tf2 is that stale for you, go and play a different game rather than trying to drag the whole scene down the shitter.

Sarcasm is probably not your strong point AcidRenix… lol
And….what kaidus said.
+1 kaidus
TF2 isn’t stale for me, I use the unlocks =]
As for bringing the community down… no no, simply trying to improve it. I love this game, I don’t want to see a small group of players ruin the potential this game has because they don’t like having different weapons be used effectively against their one and only strategy.
It’s not because they don’t enjoy playing against it, it’s because it kills them and they don’t enjoy dieing/losing, that’s all. Every weapon in the game that isn’t effective, no one cries about, reguardless of how ‘lame’ it is. People don’t call for the huntsman to be banned because a regular sniper is 99% of the time more effective. It’s only as someone learns to use a weapon effectively that people call for it to be banned. FaN, TDH, all of these were considered ‘useless’ at the start, people became resonably good with them, they complained, they got nerfed, they still complained, they get banned.
Just had the funniest game with a full-time natascha heavy right now…
Middle was great. Start was good and when the natascha heavy got there our medic died instantly due to spam. Our soldier jumped and got stopped mid-air.
We tried sniper as one of the people suggested…The heavy just hid away or they scouts raped the sniper.
If this isn’t boring or “stale” in AcidRenix’s words then I pretty much don’t know what else to call it lol.
