aura

they are really begging for ddoses

Quoted from kKaltUu

RTC recorded a staff meeting discussing bans, when confronted about it he lied and subsequently sent he recording to his friends that we were having the discussion about.

TF2C staff issue, keep it within the staff circle – The LAN needs people to go to succeed, banning one person to go a LAN they have no intellectual ownership of due to their conduct as part of the TF2C staff is truly terrible. I can get why they won’t like him or accept him, but they’re fucking up positive things for TF2 based on some personal vendetta.

What can TF2pickup.net bring to the table?

Contrary to popular belief, although it was my original intention to, I never shared the recording with anyone, not even Chronos or Scrambled. It’s still saved on my hard drive, but I’ve not touched it since the initial recording, mainly because Chronos and Scrambled got themselves banned again soon afterwards.

I only recorded the meeting because it would be easier to do than simply writing down notes and feeding back the information. All legitimate unban cases (such as Atzebumm’s permaban, which was eventually retracted) involve communication between the moderation team and the banned user, and I was probably in the best position to do this as I know both Chronos and Scrambled well. I was in between a rock and a hard place, having to choose between my friends and my moderation post in essence, and I may have been a bit biased towards the former, although in my defence, I had already attempted to resign from my post as a moderator before, but Masternoob wouldn’t acknowledge it.

I do regret lying about the situation, and I’ve apologised to Foxy in private about it, which I believe has been accepted. But quite frankly, I no longer had the drive to contribute to TF2C, and wanted to move on.

Reposted from TFTV thread:

Hi, I’ve been working at TF2Center since last year march. I joined the team to help the growth of competitive TF2. And I would like to shine some light on the entire issue.

Sadly, as you can see with prior and recent issues, TF2Center has had a huge problem with moderation and public opinion.
It started since launch, when players expressed a fair bit of criticism against the two developers (who are the project leaders of the site). This set course for the whole ordeal we see center in right now.

instead of listening to the community, it became a game of trying to fish out the legit looking criticism and the easy-to-fix solutions. The effort spent on the site diminished, but flared up if there was a good idea that was low level to implement.

In December 2014 a few players from the EU HL community banded together to see if we could organise a LAN. That team is Foungi, Stinson, Schalla, Hartz and me. We looked around for sponsors and because I have a connection with center, and Masternoob was convinced that LAN was a good idea (after visiting i52), a plan was set up to sponsor the LAN prize pool for 2000 euros.

I mean, how unclear can it be? the exact words he posted himself on the staff forum were:

http://i.imgur.com/kEaTJW2.png (this is the end part of his own post).

Cut to a few weeks ago. I have been invited to Masternoobs house, and it was great! He and his wife showed a lot of hospitality and I had a wonderful time discussing several things. One of the things I’ve shown was how we set up a fund raiser to cut the costs for the players and staff (hosting and attending LAN can be pretty expensive). He then said he’d look into funding a part of the fundraiser. At no point I had any idea he’d draw back from the original prize pool funding.

Last TF2Center staff meeting we’d discuss a few things, and I got a PM from foungi (deutschLAN host), and asked me to relay details about RTC’s removal from Center. Masternoob told Foungi that he didn’t want RTC to attend the LAN.
So I confronted him and he said he was in the position to demand that since he’s the title sponsor, if we wanted the 500 euros we (LAN organisation) better do that.

After asking him if he misspoke about 500 euros, since 2000 was agreed, he said he had changed it with foungi and it was a problem with internal communication.

So I’d ask foungi:

foungi #DeutschLan: he never said “i’m not going to pay 2000”

Spoke to the other members of LAN staff, nobody has ever heard of anything less than 2k.

I’ve watched this problem for a week in the hope TF2center can resolve it, but we got into contact with TF2Pickup and we’d rather cut ties with Center, and go into partnership with a site that actually cares for it’s community. At this point it’s not about the money anymore, it’s about the principle.

One part of me is happy that today I’m leaving behind a site with the head of it banning players for no reason at all, harassing staff and former staff members and hurting the competitive community.
I’ll be sending my resignation on the TF2C staff forums in a bit.

Sorry for not being able to steer the site in the right direction, I tried but obviously have failed.

Nothing but respect for you kkaltuu for the record. Your contributions towards improving relations between TF2C and ETF2L, especially during the Archimedes Cup, have been outstanding.

Respect for that post. Not even the handling characteristics of a professional go-kart could steer those idiots into the right direction, Kkaltuu.

I quit about a week ago. By my count, now three others just quit today.

TF2C might literally just die… interesting to see what happens.

Useless

Another decent TF2C admin leaving. Things do look grim for tf2center especially with matchmaking on the distant horizon.

Casino

Much respect to the admins resigning over this. It’s really difficult leaving a site you put so much work into but I admire your ability to stick to your principles and not stand up for this kind of behavior.

Seconded.

Big loss for TF2C to lose the K man.
