Good luck with the fundraiser.
https://forums.multiplay.com/insomnia52/99376-insomnia52-seating-plan-goes-live-wednesday-22nd-may Seat picker live on Wednesday…
There’s an allocated TF2 area, hooray. I still haven’t had response from my queries though.
The allocated space looks to be where the final stages were at i51, by the main bar.
I was going to prod about being able to manually seat everybody and getting the TF2 area locked – is this still of interest? Not sure anyone will get round to me by the time this goes live (¬_¬) but I can try. Otherwise, free for all.
Hi Nymthae:
I’m coordinating the North American efforts to send two teams over. Is there a more direct way I can reach you (steam, email)?
My steam’s bugged out and I can’t add anyone, but I can still receive requests if that’s most convenient for you:
http://insomniagamingfestival.com/2014/05/16/esports/announcing-preliminary-insomnia52-tournaments-plus-prize-pools/ £5k prize pool confirmed (and a tournament therefore :D)
@engima: i’ve dropped you an invite, although steam was going up and down at the time, shows you on my list but I don’t know if it’s come up your end

Is that £5k minimum or based on signups?

They’ve written £5k+
I’m gonna assume it’s like last year (2.5k to winners?) – they didn’t scale last time though iirc, so whether the + is a scaling indication or whether it’s a “let’s see if we can get some sponsorship to up it a bit” as i’m guessing it’s multiplay’s money up there right now

They’ve pretty much always had scaling, but typically we never get anywhere near the amount of teams required to increase the pot.

There was no scaling at i49 im pretty sure?
Aye, I seem to think there wasn’t, because I remember looking as it was probably the closest we’ve ever been to being able to actually scale.
Tournament page just says 5k right now, so i’m guessing they’ll go with what they had last year for now.
Seat picker is open – go sort yourselves out now, plenty of room (lower ground 345)
I can pass on information at a later date to get people moved around if necessary, but this is basically a manual defrag (and effort). I don’t want to upset/move too many people later on so be sensible. The long rows take 24 people in most cases.
Not sure where snowie and I will sat yet – probably somewhere in the middle on the end so we’re centralish. The “placeholder” tickets may be moved later on but not sure yet.

any word on the pc rental?
Not available for the general public, i’ve wrangled some for the american/australian teams so they’re ok but otherwise look into other alternatives.
I was thinking about contacting http://eclipsearena.co.uk/ and seeing if they could do anything for us. I think they only have about ~20 PCs, and no idea on specs etc. but if they could provide anything at a similar/reasonable price to the usual rentals then it might achieve something. No idea if they would be up for it, looks like they took 10 PCs to i51 for an exhibition stand (walk-up CS:GO tournament)
I think everyone should check out their website, then Nym can say “oh check your website stats, and thats what I am capable of, mwhahah.” Then they will have to give us computers for free.
