Might have to add: Parking is horrible in Amsterdam. Best is to park a bit outside of Amsterdam, in Abcoude for example, and take the train (3,20 euros).

I was looking into driving too, but like Qun said parking is a nightmare and very expensive in Amsterdam.
I drove to amsterdam in a toyota previa painted like the a team van and parked in amsterdam for 4 days and it wasnt too expensive ^_^. Just parked slightly out of the city as Tim says and then got an easy train to the centre. Otherwise you’re looking at about £200 in flights. Get 4 in a car and it’ll be half that inc everything. Plus road trips half the fun o.
