No i admit i was stupid and tried a cheat in cs 1.6 2 years ago. cant see how it has anything to do with tf2 and competetive gaming tho..
that’s what most here think too. Nice to hear an answer, i guess that explanation will come from the others too :D
also WooD: dont even ask about that, tf2 cheats are GHEY ;)
if you can get on a pub tf2 server that’s vac secured you will be ok, however if we find any cause of concern from any of the listed players we will be requesting in-eye demos so keep them at hand please lads
Although this is focused for CSS players mostly, you might wanna read http://www.cadred.org/News/Article/40008/ and cast your vote.
Agron: If they would have been vacced in CSS, they wouldn’t be playing TF2 with that account.
Ok, I admit that i’m pretty much clueless when it comes to VAC’s workings.
Anyhoo, my point was that saying “once a cheater, always a cheater” – rhetoric is pointless. We don’t know anything about the “incidents”. There’s a difference with getting vac-banned for trying a hax while drunk because you’re friends told you to and using a hax for a longer time in clan play etc.
So let’s not get our panties in a twist over something that’s pretty trivial for the tf2 scene. (and reading the admin replies it seems etf2l won’t either which is good)
I read those 3 comments made by delonge etc. and i agree with them. There’s just no way to know the circumstances in which the haxing happened. As they said too, it might not have even been the current owner of the account who haxed. Trading steam accounts is pretty common. for example I shared my steam account for years with my brother. He’s a lsoulless sob and let’s presume he used haxs in a game without me knowing about it. Should i and the teams i play in be punished about that by etf2l/esl etc.?
So all in all publishing ppls names in a thread like this is just _useless_ unless you can prove they cheated in tf2.
Lot of people don’t know what they are talking about, so:
1) Yes there was a Steam Community updates which NOW display if people were VAC Banned or not, you could have been VAC Banned in 2005, and it just shows after yesterday Steam Community update. You can check Steam Forums, they are talking about that update.
2) VAC1 is dead a long long time ago. VAC1 is dead in July-August 2005 (not sure about the month, maybe it was march), and it NOT used in any games NOW. Even HL1 engine games were replaced by VAC2. All VAC1 Bans were 1 year on Steam (the delay used to be 2-5 years on Won or early Steam). So ALL VAC1 bans were reversed.
Since VAC2 in 2005, all VAC bans are permanent.
ATM you can’t know from which games they are banned, and a lot of players are banned from HL1 games a long long time ago, ban a lot of people because they cheated on a different game? No.
EDIT:
VAC Bans are per engine like many people said.
You were banned because you cheated on any HL1 Engine games, you’ll be banned on ALL HL1 engine games. Same for HL2.
This is not recently banned.
I’m pretty sure this is only CS 1.6 too.
Yeah i messed around with a cheat in CS 1.6 like years ago? So what?
Are you trying to tell me you have never used a cheat on Age of Empires to get more resources or to skip a level on Sonic? By your logic that means they still must hack in TF2. Sigh.. get off your self righteous high horse Tuna.
All these players play public TF2 and obviously don’t hack from demos.
Tuna you play in Div 5 right? How old are you?
Ah well more “fans” will be watching demos of me, woohay.
Such a silly reply raccoon, there is no way you can compare a singleplayer AOE game with 1.6, especially not when you play it at a (high) competitive level. Tho, if it can be proved the bans all took place a couple of years ago, i dont see the point in banning these players when they have “done nothing wrong” whilst playing tf2.
Also, id like you to notice that people from division 5 (or w/e division beneath your clan) or of any age also have the right to share their opinions. There is no reason for you to act all agressive because tuna obv isnt the player who is VAC banned.
Raccoon, that was neither intelligent nor polite. In fact, it was (.) and rude.
What has the Div to do with ones opinion? Oh dear 1337-pro-god-player, please hear me out, I have a humble suggestion to make … is that how your world works?
Sorry, but you sure are in for a hard awakening.
Raccoon, I decided not to play TF2 competitivly at all. Played CSS for years, and the primary reasons I stopped was due to the amount of retards in the scene and the number of cheetahs.
Single player games have cheats coded INTO them. You dont have to download external programs to enable them. Source engine has a few of them as well, but they are locked behind sv_cheats. If people would want to play around with cheats, they’d go on an sv_cheats 1 server. Pointless to start comparing cheating in a single player game with a competitive multiplayer game.
I’ve been called a cheater more times than healthy due to some videos, ironically a lot of those accusers were labeled cheaters today (the link to cadred). I know for a fact it aint that enjoyable to be called a cheater without any reason, but there are hard facts here that state that those people have at least cheated in some hl1/hl2 multiplayer games. The listed people were just the first ID’s that popped up labeled banned, and didn’t even have to look for long.
In my logic a past cheater has a lot higher chance of cheating again, compared to a person who has never cheated. And no, I’ve cheated plenty of times in singleplayer games, but that is completly irrelevant to anything here.
Since when have demos been the key for knowing if someone cheats? Unless your a retard or just plain bad, then demos might give away a wh or aimbot, but without any 3rd party anti-cheat software which take screenshots etc, one could use wallhacks etc just fine as long as they know how to not make it too blatent.
No where did I state that they should be banned based on cheating in some other game, but instead trying to raise awareness that if you ever considered using cheats, or even used and haven’t gotten caught, maybe its better not to, as it will be found out sooner or later.
Raccoon, judging from your talk, im quite a bit older than you.
euhm lol?
i cheated 5years ago 1 time in cs?
whats the problem now?
