Recent Banned Accounts
Created 10th October 2008 @ 12:49
I wont name the players who’ve had their steam accounts banned. This is probably just a mess up from valve. But if it isn’t I assume the league admins here will award default wins to all those teams who played against these players during the etf2l season?
Following this funny CSS thread:

Please note it doesn’t mean the players have cheated in TF2, but once a cheater, always a cheater. Draw your own conclusions, im just posting links.
Please dont post the names of these people, they are more than likely innocent – please edit your post.
VAC doesnt make false positives. This new community thing might. If so, then those players have nothing to worry about.
Name and shame.
Once a cheater, always a cheater. etc.
If you dont/didnt hack, you’ve got nothing to worry about and you can just laugh at this thread. End of story.
Maybe there’s a glitch in the system, after all it seems all of these bans occurred at roughly the same time.
haehaehaeh
couldn’t care less if some tf2 player might have or might have not cheated in a game of cs/css X amount of years ago.
What matters is that they’re clean in tf2.
PS. I used hax to complete Warcraft2 singleplayer campaign. Kill me with fire!
If someone cheats in a competitive multiplayer game, it already describes what type of person they are. VAC doesn’t have single player games such as warcraft 2 singleplayer campaign, so it is hardly relevant what you do there.
Luckily the cheating doesn’t seem to be that big of an issue in TF2 (at least yet), but should be made sure it never gets there either. Nobody likes to get accused for cheating for no reason, but theres written facts there that they have been flagged vac banned, (aka cheated in one or more games).
If some of those players still play TF2 with those vac marked accounts, it simply means they got banned in some HL1 powered game. I am in no way implying that people should start getting banned just based on this, but more just wanting the information to be known, and the fact that if you cheat, your eventually gonna get busted.
In addition, I don’t see how some classes could even benefit from cheats to be worth using. Believe this is one of the major reasons cheating hasn’t been that common on public servers (I’ve only come across one obvious cheat on a public so far), compared to for example CSS where your bound to meet one by just playing a few hours. Why not go strong against cheats right from start before they become a bigger problem?
VAC will ban all who are using a Applet (Logitech G15 programm) for Steamgames (TF2-, CSS- or CS 1.6 Statsviewer etc.) _<
VAC2 is crap..
How can we tell if these players cheated in TF2 or some other game, and how can we tell if this cheat was commited yesterday or a year ago?
That’s interesting. Been using G15 since the original came out a few years ago, and a stat parser for css for a while as well. I am having a hard time believing that without any sort of facts, especially as those applets just read log files which are automatically written by the game (console.log etc, and basically work same way as hlxstats and those with the difference that this is client side).
There is no way to find out which game a user has been banned from, but the ban is just for the specific engine. For example if you get banned in 1.6 (VAC1), you cant play 1.6, or any other HL1 mods. But you can play TF2, CSS etc. Same way if you get banned from VAC2 (CSS,TF2 etc), you won’t be able to play VAC2 games but can play VAC1 assuming that aint banned.
Does it really matter what game you cheat on though, as a cheater is a cheater. Just like in sports you can’t just switch sport if you get caught using doping in one.
Agron: If they would have been vacced in CSS, they wouldn’t be playing TF2 with that account.
*kills Agron with fire* CRITICAL HIT! Over 9000 dmg dealt.
but nvm, to get back on a few things said here…
“What matters is that they’re clean in tf2.”
Indeed, and the fact that most of them played fine till yesterday shows that they *most likely* got a vac1 ban and not a v2 one. Means “everything’s fine” till now.
“VAC doesnt make false positives. This new community thing might. If so, then those players have nothing to worry about. ”
This new community thingy MOST LIKELY just reads a database and checks if (imaginated value) “vacX_ban” is 1 or whatever and writes it that way then.
“If you dont/didnt hack, you’ve got nothing to worry about and you can just laugh at this thread. End of story.”
ack.
Less QQ, more Pew Pew. Stop the “witch hunt” and get back to playing, and wait for some comments from their side first.
