Yes, map makers get compensated $3000 when their map goes official – technically after that point, Valve own the map. I don’t think I’ve seen Nightbox make a map before, except a broken modification of duel_duel2 which wasn’t his map in the first place.

Community contributors through the website don’t get anything, just a special version of their weapon and the knowledge of their awesomeness.

EDIT: I just re-read this thread, and I don’t think he said anything about him making a map at all :S

TF2.ro

Its not a map, its not a skin, its not a weapon, its something directly related to the game without influence on the game play.

Should the three pages of shite in this thread be delted and actually discuss tf2 lobby with all its new stats and figures?

Wow you people are officially retarded, i just tried to help nightbox what do you call flaming these days? On top of that it was related to tf2lobby. Your posts whining about this going off-topic aren’t really “on topic” either.

Let the admins deal with it if it really goes “off-topic”. christ…

Anyways, I know that invite pickups didn’t work that well, not sure of the reasons though. Mind explaining them to me?

Essentially, the problem was always that it works great for a while, but the player base eventually loses interest and goes stale. Then new players are brought in who previously would not have been allowed meaning the skill ceiling is effectively lowered, leaving you almost right back where you started after a couple of rounds of that.

Last pickup in pickup2 was nearly 2 days ago, its bassically dead.

Theres not really a way to 100% prevent bad players, I mean at the end of the day they will never get good if you don’t give them a chance. A better way to manage it, imo, would be an active, approachable admin team and some kind of 3 strikes policy resulting in a temp ban (maybe a couple of weeks?).

An invite system is like a whitelist policy and a temp-ban system policy would be like a blacklist policy, and in the real world blacklists virtually always work better.

p.s. Nightbox, i’m genuinely intrigued. :)

Cut the ego though, its really not doing you any favours here.

To be honest though, EVERYONE needs to just cut the attitude in TF2 about everything. You’ve all got ego’s over a video game, just think about that for a second. :)
