Razer mice clipping problems

whats your sens, i don’t get this with my db 3g
1680×1050, 0.85, 10 driver, 6/11 win, 1800dpi, cplmousefix.
When I get home again I’m going to abuse my Diamondback Plasma. If it shows no problems I’m just going to get a Krait.

If I move the mouse any faster I will go deaf because it’s going faster than the speed of sound.
EDIT: as unlikely as it may sound, could it perhaps be because of the mouse fix?
I remember having similar problems on my lachesis, and I did use the fix back then.
I just dismissed it as a mouse issue.

I can’t replicate it using my old DB G2. Only has some neg accel at those speeds it seems. But I feel the abyssus is more accurate, so I guess I just gotta slow down my rj’s.
I’m using 1680×1050 and a deathadder (old one), I don’t have problems while flicking but then again my sens is not even nearly as low as yours. I need around 22-25 cm for a 360.

Happened once or twice with my DA 3g @1800dpi, 0.7, win def, 500Hz, no mousefix.
I had to flick it ridiculously fast though, way faster than anyone could ever need in a game.

Yeah well. Guess I’m special (bring in the insults). Ordered a Krait on ebay from some korean or whatever, only place I could find a Krait. Has the same sensor as my old diamondback which didn’t show the problem. Carebear about the little less accuracy. Playing as soldier tonight showed me I get it like 0-2 times every map.

(Link says he does gets some negetive acceleration at my settings (1800dpi, 0.85, 10sens driver, 6 win, cplmousefix) and he also confirms the flicking problem).

TF2 is a non-direct input game which makes the mouse go to the centre of the screen every time u hit the desktop boundry. Making the only solution to
1. lower win sensitivity.
2. playing with highresolution.
This makes perfect sense. I use 640×480 and he 1680×1050. This would explain why I ran into negative acceleration with his settings and he didn’t. I managed to solve it by lowering the driver sens and compensating in game to reach the same cm/360, as described here. http://etf2l.org/forum/general/topic-8851/page-4/

I’ve been thinking about going back to the Krait as well. Too bad I threw away my old one when I had worn out the buttons, othewise I would have been able to test it. Didn’t experience any problems when I had it, but back then I used funcSurface1030 and 20cm/360 as opposed to my current QCK+ setup at 40cm/360. What dicourages me is that the specification says “Up to 40 inches per second and 15g of acceleration” compared to “60-120 inches per second and 15g of acceleration” for pretty much all other Razer mice.
From my experience the excessive horisontal speed somehow erroneously translates to vertical, meaning that the vertical deviation depends on how much horisontal movement there is above the critical speed. What I’m saying is that there might be a possibility that negative acceleration limits the speed before it can cause clipping. Can you try these settings and see if you can replicate the behavior with your DA 2G?
* Maximum in-game resolution (within reasonable fps limits)
* Minimum dpi
* Minimum driver sens
* An in-game sens of at least 2
I think this should maximize your negative acceleration tolerance.

That’s a graph of the deathadder..
Also I used to have 35 cm with my deathadder in tf2 and rocketjumping worked fine
You can get a krait for 20,- euro on ebay. I’ve unplugged my abbysus and am using my old DB now until the krait arrives. But if I look at the mouse scores I notice that the krait reaches malfunction speed before the DA but the DB G2 never reaches malfunction speed.
I think it’s a problem with G forces and not with m/s.
I’ll test those setting tomorrow Link. When I get around to installing the drivers :P. But the negative acceleration has no impact on gameplay: it only appears at truly high speeds. But unlike the vertical axis problem on the new razer mice it still allows me to rocketjump and keep looking at the enemy.

Yeah and remove mousefix from the register. That migth be the problem also. Combined with the high dpi and winsens @ deafult.
run – regedit – hkey_current_user – control panel – mouse
It would be really nice if someone did a serious test of all kind of technical aspects of the mice of today.
Most mice reviews are, in my opinion, quite primitive and too subjective.
Some things, like what shape you prefer is very subjective of course, but there are a lot of things which are very much measurable, like negative acceleration, malfunction speed, friction against the mousepad, tracking against different mousepads and so on.
I know there is an older large test from esreality from december 2006 that I notice people here are linking to. There they checked malfunction speed and other things.
However, that test is heavily outdated. There are tons of mice that have entered the marked since that test was made.
Especially the technique behind the laser mice have improve radically since then.
tl;dr
Make a serious mouse test where all technical details are tested ffs !

To exclude a problem with the razer drivers or other mouse filters, please test if you still have it using this: http://www.digitalise.net/2009/04/19/rinput-131-sequential-edition-released/
I’ve just tested this software and it does not work.
Im using the new Qpad mouse which has a maximum dpi of 5040.
Im playing quake live with 5040dpi + low sens ingame (60cm for 360) without any problems.
I started the program and typed in hl2.exe and then started tf2, the console said it had found the exe and had injected the dll.
But I still get the negative acceleration :(, too bad I wanted it to work.
It’s not neg. accel cause by the cursor hitting the side of the screens in that case, because rinput takes care of that just fine :)

Well I do see the cursor jumping from edge to screen to middle rapidly when i have high dpi, thought that was what cause my mouse to completly stop when i moved the mouse fast.
