Damage adjustments

I think your reasons for adjusting damages are flawed. Lower weapon damage won’t reduce spam, the direct hit isn’t a spamming weapon either. The reason the heavy isn’t used is mainly because it’s far too slow. It can’t fight on 5 point CP maps because it can’t deal with back caps, it can’t get out of a lost battle and it can’t get to middle quickly enough.

It’s weird how every main class seems to have a weapon that the other classes think is overpowered, I’d consider that a balanced situation.

I think 450 hp for a fully charged headshot is too much tbh. Especially since heavies can’t dodge a sniper from afar either.

Good ideas though. Would like to see the scout max damage reduced (I’m a scout).

And please make a backstab a max of 449 dmg.

TDH is not a reason to reduce the damage of the shotgun and nades

I have to agree with admirable: a lot of people are crying that TF2 is slow, and making weapons do less damage will only make this worse. I’m not saying that all weapons should instagib (although that was quite fun gamemode), but you get my point.

Also, sniper bodyshots should do 150dmg. If you cant call/kill a sniper standing for 5 seconds in one place with his vision narrowed to only few degrees, your medic deserves to die. Anyways, sniper is barely used nowadays, and nerfing him would mean he’s useless.

P.S.: snowie, a heavy isn’t “it”… He’s “him” :D

I can only read: My team uses a FaN and we need a way to make it work again. Also putting (finally) behind balance TDH is kinda sad.

You know i like you viqun, but you may as well slap a dunce hat on yourself saying stuff like that. Try to discount someone’s opinion based on some solid reasoning than mud-slinging. Something a few others round here could learn.

Edit: I don’t like this idea.

TF2 is slow because of the demoman class, especially players like Byte who focus their game around sticky traps rather than aim. Uber also makes this game slow, notice how much quicker it goes once one team opts for kritz. In regards the heavy, if the demoman was balanced the heavy would be a mainstay, people think it’s focus fire from the soldiers which ruin the heavy, it’s not – it’s the demoman.

Heavy has mobility problems. Wont solve anything by adjusting damages.
TDH is a bugged spamweapon. Let that be solved first.
FAN is nerved and probably useless. Let it be this way, was a defensive fagweapon anyway.
If you want to solve spam, just change 8 to 4 stickies in the stickylauncher. Reducing damages is only increasing the spam anyway. It only makes it harder to get the kill, get the advantage and wont reward agressive solo-actions. Result is even more spamming.

I won’t judge how these changes affect the game flow or spam duration. It’s simply too early to determine this without testing.

This actually sounds intresting (atleast to me, a non-demo player). But how about changing only the number of stickies that are laid, i.e. a demoman could only have 4 stieckies out at any given moment, but still have 8 in fully loaded weapon?
What do demomen playing guys/gals think?
