Just updated my HUD with constant weapon icon display so I can tell which weapon I have out without viewmodels

neat!
how did you do it? I guess it’s not the actual Menu that is built in, but rather a picture?
But how does the HUD recognize class + weapon and switch the picture accordingly?
hmm… share plz :)
green O.
There is no perfect crosshair only the ones you prefer.

Isn’t your crosshair a bit small?
I use a small green cross for my rocketlauncher and a cyan one for my shotgun.

It sure works with the HudAnimations_tf.txt file, not with the layout file..
edit: hahaha it’s even the 1st animation which is defined there – just change the time value for the close animation to 10000s and you’re good to go

thanks man
the best crosshair for soldier or any class, is the one you feel most comfortable with.
I used to use 7 for a long time but switched to the dot, but in honesty i moved to the little circle and made it a smallish/medium size and im much happier with that for now. makes sniping easier aswell as your dot goes in the donut part of the circle when zoomed
the only thing suggested good here is the colours such as green or a lighty blue, as other colours can easily mix with the textures on some maps (yellow/orange crosshair and badlands = it will “dissapear” into walls and you wont see etc..)
personally i use a lime green
