cowkid, mookid or whatever u fkin name is.. u hate the idea, everybody knows now.. so would you please shut the fuck up?
i gonna do this now together with ESL, no matter u like or dislike the idea..
27th gonna be the date for all of u who are interested in watchin the match.. more news with lineups, maps and all other shit will come online tomorrow..
seriously, whats the reason u hate me so much? did i own u so badly? are u a racist? do you hate the nick mvp? or are you just an idiot? possible its all together.
good night.
I don’t hate you, I just think you’re egotistical. The idea’s shit and your energy would be better employed producing a promotional event that focused on the important team aspect of the tf2 game. You don’t give a shit about the community; you give a shit about appearing in an all stars list.
Fair enough though, it does seem like most people are happy with this stupid all star game idea. It could have been decided alot more fairly, but since a fair pick would exclude you from the list I can see why you didn’t go down that route.
I do actually hope the thing goes ok and it sends the right message to the right people – I hope tf2 and the community at least get some benefit from it! gl hf =)
ive read alot of this thread, and although i aggree the ‘allstar game’ is abit gay.. i can think of another way which would include alot more people, and attract ALOT MORE PEOPLE than watching 12 monkeys running about for a hour shoting each other..
do what xfire have done a few times, host a ‘play with the pro’s night’ give it about 2 months notice, spam it about on various other tf2 forums, and get a big enough public server, or 2, or even 3, and get some players in it, let the not so skilled tf2 players play with the best, so they can atleast say, ive played with x and x, i killed x when we was playing on the map x.
thats the simplist and easiest way to get the scene bigger, theory you ask?..
about 80% of the tf2 playerbase is public players, if you can attract even 10-20% of those public players into joining/forming clans then the scene will increase alot. also, if u have whored publics as much as i did when i played tf2, you would see the ocasional clan who have a playerbase of about 15-20, i know my maths and thats 3 clans (6v6 rules etc), or even team A/B/C, thats still 3 more clans into the competitive play. Now i know some of these clans are just a group of guys/gals who just logon to play with each other on their public (or raid another public server) and have some fun, But, if you can get those players/clans to move into playing competitivly i belive it will do more for the community scene (if your intention was for it to grow) than, as i said, watching 12 monkeys shoot the shit outa each other for an hour..
LET THE PUBLIC SHOOT THE SHIT OUTA YA FOR A HOUR :p
if i was still playing tf2, and i wanted to set this kinda gig up, then i would, i mean its not difficult, spam forums, email xfire (they are always happy to sponsor a event, heck they would proberly supply the huge servers) cause they can spam banners accross their networks, and get in contact with those streaming sites.. ofc they wont actually commentate on a public because thats just stupid :P, they can atleast put the word out. :D
anyway thats my 10min of random posting, time to watch my tf2 vids again and touch my penis.
wai, that “pro-night” idea sounds actually pretty good imo. And it would prolly be easier to get pubheros to the competetive scene, as they already own the game and are familiar with the basics.
Maybe something like that could/should be done next?
Wai: That’s actually a superb idea that would actually provide something for the community… Why don’t you do this instead of an all star game?
Use the people on that list but do a ‘play with the pros’ night instead. Get SourceTV on there; you could still cast it if you really wanted.
That sounds kinda fun wai, tho the pub players shouldnt be completely and utterly defeated :P
The pros have to go easy on them so they dont get angry at the game.
I remember a pro cs player playing a 1v12 where the 12 random players could only use knife. Maybe something like this can be done in tf2 aswell? 12 melee spies vs a scout or so.
well wai , we already did a ‘play with a pro’ night with the 4kings Guys on Xfire and that was not really successful :p
aye 4k was there thas why ;>, if there was enough advertisment about the event, then quite a few will turn up. i didnt know 4k even did a play with the pro’s night great PR there :p
Mick, how broadly was it advertised? and any ideas why it “failed”?
one coolish option imho would be a 6v12 match or 6v18 match, with no limits on weaponry on either side.
I think that with some decent adverting on the right sites it would get enough attention and so on…
Why not just mix all the players up? Then they can play with and against their heros.
Where will I be able to sign up for this btw?
the match gonna happen mookid..!
but the idea with the public server is great.. if not anyone other is interested in organizing it.. ill work out a plan this weekend.
Abom for presidency, Wlv for the drunken hooligan :p (;x) and Mookid for the logic sense award :D
Gotta agree with mookid way its been dealt with is as good as Wai at NOT being welsh :p. I’d rather of a mass community vote of the all star players being chosen then 1 guy picking them based on the rules of what can be picked. If mvp was the god of TF2 i’d say sure no probs, far from it though to be honest. I just see this as a high skilled mix match, wouldn’t even classify it as a “all-star” game doesn’t justify or credit the name enough!
Hope the match turns out well though, 50% of the list is correct in my opinion however the other half is a joke. :D
Byte
stfu Byte you’re just angry you’re not in the team.
