I noticed this, “[confirmed] The heavy appears to have gotten a KGB replacement of sorts that makes him go around pyro speed when their out. This would explain the “vanguard party” achievements that were popping up earlier.”
This gave me a little idea for what the ‘weapon’ model should look like:

Ignore the fact that his minigun is out, and imagine he is running forward with a BIG smile on his face . I think this makes sense because he is supposed to be the ‘dumb’ member of the team and he loves his sandvich! It explains why he is running, rather than something that allows him to run quicker without reasoning.
What do you guys think?

Not to steal this thread, but what about this idea… A command (such as r_simple 1) that will make the textures look like http://sites.google.com/site/emsixteen/quakelive/playing.png
To me, and others, this game has plenty of stuff that can grab your attention and distract you from a fight for just those few critical seconds.

how about an option to replace heavy’s audio with tourette’s guy voice?
I think valve might just use such an idea for the heavy model. That being said; I dont like it

and the r_simple 1, but that is just a higher picmip so what valve should do is let us increase the value more than 2. something like 15 should do it.
you can force picmip to 15 with rivatuner/atitools(?) for nvidia/ati cards respectively, google noams scout blog, it has all the details on there.
Still, it doesn’t really look that good.
I want r_simple 1 too :D
With the rivatuner thing, it doesn’t look like the game got clean textures, it just looks like someone puked all over the map.
