So a sticky can 1 hit scouts? Not sure I find this believable. I’ve ran into many a sticky, obviously on purpose to verify this, and never have I been 1 shot with a single sticky.

Also regarding sticky myths, I have heard from a couple demomen that you can shoot stickies out of the air before they land, as long as they prime.

That seems like utter bullshit. I have never ever seen a sticky get shot out of the air. You would think a heavy shooting a demo would remove like at least one in 3 stickies being lobbed or something. I have never personally shot a sticky out of the air or had my sticky disappear before landing, yet people seem to swear that it is possible.

Also maybe in perfect set up circumstances a sticky can do 128 to someone but I dont think its possible in normal 6v6 for it to occur.

IIRC, this used to be possible, but was fixed/nerfed/terminology in a patch over at least a year ago, or something.

Confirmed, lol’d hard after on hitting a scout.

Just tested it, 138 is possible without damagespread if you and the target both crouch next to the sticky. With damagespread 145 is possible.

Yeah I got it wrong it’s not 128 it’s 138. It can fucking destroy you if detonated in under 5 seconds and your hitbox is right on top of it.

Why in under 5 seconds, its not like stickies do less damage if left for a while…. right?

There is a timing delay for stickies which affects the fall off damage there’s a TF2 blog post about it. From what I remember though was that the fall off damage was removed for stickies left for longer than 5 seconds or soemthing similar so that sticky traps function at full potential regardless of where the demoman is in relation to the stickies.
