– sv_pure will probably be broken
– there won’t be any TF2 validating problems anymore on launch
– HUDs will need to be installed in a different folder
EDIT:
sv_pure now requires -sv_pure in the server command line to work.

will the game boot/map load times actually be faster?that’d be sweet
Yes. It will launch as soon as you click on TF2 in Steam.
here’s looking over at the sourcemod and tftrue peeps . hopefully they can get stuff sorted on the beta ready for release :)

I’ll try to make TFTrue/AAC compatible with the new TF2 beta, but I think I will have to release the updates when TF2 gets moved to SteamPipe as well due to the sv_pure changes.
So this pretty much improves everything with no loss?
Sounds too good to be true, this is Valve we’re dealing with but perhaps I missed a few things

Following the article, it looks like P-REC will be broken again ?
No. You’ll just have to either:
– create a subfolder in tf/addons/, i.e. tf/addons/P-REC and extract all the stuff there instead of tf/addons/
– pack all the stuff contained in the P-REC .zip into a .vpk and place it in tf/addons/
Easy as that, I like this system as it cleans up the folder structure immensely. I’m sure Orange will follow up and re-pack his plugin.
