I don’t think there are any “security specialists” in this thread.

Seriously what’s all the fuss about? Just ban the known cheaters, the plugin doesn’t work any more so everyone can calm down about some plugin taking screenshots of your crosshair.

I know I ain’t an admin so I don’t really have to set an example. Now go practice your roll-outs, must be hard without your escape plan.

I read this post with your whiny voice and it made me giggle. Please, stop it.

Currently recruiting staff for SAC 0.1: skeej anti cheat v0.1 alpha

Your job will be to fly over to any ETF2L participant and stand behind them as they play their official games, making sure the player doesn’t use any hacks during games. *

HA! “Rip” that “apart” with your fancy “coding”, Casual!

Same way people cheat at LAN. Except far easier to pull off.

Anakin, I applaud you for attempt to do something that needed to be done. You caught quite a few cheaters who would still be playing today (and cheating today). Concerning the “invasion of privacy” angle, I am sure you cheaters are well aware that tf2 holds no serious person data. Unless you can use source code to some how work outside the game then no one is going to take this as an invasion of privacy seriously.

The sad truth is Valve patched this “exploit” but has still failed in given us a serious anti-cheat system. Until that happens and with the volume of cheat sympathizers posting in this thread, you have to question the legitimacy of any etf2l championship. Your victory or championship means NOTHING if you had to win it by using a hack.

I would encourage the competitive community to get serious about cheating by doing this

1) Organizing community programmers who produce a serious anti-cheat client. This project would need to be headed by an ambitious individual.
2) Contacting Valve in huge numbers to get them to update VAC on a consistent basis.
3) Reverse all victories in which a known cheater has participated in. This happens in physical sports leagues, it needs to start happening here.
