it’s a shame they had to fix it… I mean I get the point about privacy, but I think nobody can deny it was (and would have been) a great thing to have against cheaters. Maybe if valve allowed some way to “legally” do it (instead of using an exploit)… even if there was a requirement to let players know beforehand that they were playing in a server with a mod that takes screenshots from their PCs, that would at least make cheaters think twice before using something…

Makes me wonder why they fixed it, but never updates VAC, nor makes a way to stop cheaters to create new accounts… Hipocrisy much…

Cheater – bad guy. He’s trying to bypass Valve VAC.

Illegally obtained evidence cannot used. But ok, we can use it, but why not ban anakin?
It’s a very simple choice: ban all cheaters including anakin or not ban anybody. Second choice is better imho since we’re a good police-mans. :D
Couple things.
When was last time Anakin played in a team? I don’t think he would care about a ban.
He didn’t cheat within the game, the exploits he used never gave him an unfair advantage, which is what I think etf2l rules are about. Fair play, if Valve wants to punish him that is their choice.
People saying he could have done whatever he wanted with this exploit, he didn’t, he instead used it to help the community. Bad person indeed.
Tbh with it fixed we can close this, some thinking he is a war criminal or something others thinking he is Batman.

As i posted on vanillatf2 with regards to tarkus/matnun:
I don’t agree with the lack of implemented ‘i agree to this being used blah blah’, but if someone like Anakin has had the balls to do this and face whatever consequences arise for the method utilized (arguably none)… then yes these dirty cheaters deserve to be banned on that alone.
I’d strip away any medals/awards their teams have ever got, most of them have never been to LAN anyway… but maybe I’m just a cunt.

Please link to the specific law that forbids this.
