“Noobs start below Division 4. Oh shoot, youre in Division 4. Lets make that below Division 3 then. And no, if I wanted to play with noobs, I would play the normal pickup. Which i don’t.”

It’s comments like this that start the flames.. You cant blame people for getting pissed when you make elitist comments…

lol why should i be pissed at people raging

its the simpliest and easiest way to keep this thread at the top to insure that most of division 1 players read it ;)

Yeah, it´s a forum, it´s made for discussions, who is raging?

I don’t get it. Not the whole wanting to play tf2 with a good bunch of guys when you have no life/money at the weekend that I understand all to well. :(

What I don’t get is why this will work out any different to the invite pick-up channel, the people that add to that will continue to do so and those that won’t are probably going to list the same reasons for not doing so. You’d be better of just messaging the reluctant ones when you can see that a really good invite pick-up is about to happen or in the first place to get them to play tbh.

Also wanting what would be an invite system within the invite system does come across as a little elitist. This doesn’t mean that people view the whole upper skill echelon of the community as such, no one who has seen how many and which players put forward money for the community can think that. Riemus wilfully flamy comments just don’t help much is all :P

No one said anything about an invite system inside the invite system

This has absolutely nothing to do with the invite pickup, or normal pickups, or division xyz players, or whatever

Its a public display of interest in a potential little mix group to get an occasional fri/sat night mix going that has more characters of a pcw than a pickup.

Lets face it. Pickups are random. You can get a good team. You can get a bad team.
You can have fun. You can have misery. Not everyone likes Pickups. Not everyone likes Mixes

Im sure when you started TF2/gaming you were OMFGuberhighskilled ;/

And like some others already said, you dont need to post in a public forum with players from all divisions if you want to play with div1 worthy players only anyway. irc would be much faster.

A thread post was always going to be a much better way to see how much interest there was, compared to spamming on IRC and getting some random replies.

Maybe including lower divisions (1-4) who do know how to play would help them improve – your team doesnt get to div 4 with a retarded medic etc, unless the rest of the team is sick, and even so, you would be able to disallow the ‘noobs’ from playing if there were any.

The typical noobs you get on pickups don’t represent the skill of these divisions – plenty of them arent even in a team/etf2l. Besides you can reserve the right to banhammer any knobs/u-u-u-u-u-ulowers…

Pickups are shit because half of the people dont know how to play, and it just ruins the game, but i can guarantee most teams in div 4 and up DO know how to play, so the fun shouldnt be ruined by someone who doesnt know how to spread heals
