After the update, the old problem of not being able to tab back in, can hear the sound but game won’t open. Any fixes (aside from going back to window)?

post ur cfg and launch options
i can still tab in, just takes ~5sec instead of insta alt tab
-dxlevel 80 -console -nojoy -noipx -novid -w 1280 -h 768 -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

you shouldnt be using -dxlevel 80 once you launch it once
either:
1) use -dxlevel 80 (or 81) BUT add +mat_antialias 1 in launch options AND remove it from cfg
or
2) remove -dxlevel 80 from launch options like chris has pointed out
