Right then. Lets use this thread for unlocks we DO NOT want on our MGE. You can post here until and I will have a look at the thread when I come back from work. Vanilla is also an option.

Is it possible to have a few arena’s where you ‘lock’ classes?

Since it always seems the that whenever I join (happens to be demo) I get either a scout or a soldier against me (which kind of defeats the point of MGE for me). So by ‘locking classes’, only another demoman could join against me instead of point-happy scouts/soldiers.
And yes, ‘what if you want to change classes or a solly wants to play in the same arena as you are?’: 2 options:
1) Copy all the arena’s and make class-locked versions
2) Give the player already in through something like a selection box if he/she allows the other class to join.

Mge is primarily played by soldiers.

What tends to work is for you to join an empty arena and advertise the arena with the class you want.

They are pointless (lol gedit?) and make people more inclined to play in annoying ways in order to win, but not get better…
Also vanilla would be cool too, as thats what most 6v6 tournies use. Its annoying as hell to get equalized when you are not using it. Or for the enemy to use some troll or op weapon just for luls, like mad milk or boots..

And correct me if I’m wrong: what do you mean by copying arenas? Like editing the map and adding more of the same ones?

But still I think you are exaggerating a bit and if some1 joins and plays a shit class you can always remove yourself. I’m thinking of removing the stats all together if you are worrying about losing points when removing in mid game.

What I meant was editing and adding more, yes.
And I know I could just remove myself from the arena (the stats don’t interest me at all), but the point is that it just takes ages before you finally end up against a player who isn’t monging about(e.g. plays another class). It might just be me who gets annoyed by this though!

No need for unlocks in MGE imo, so I’d say ban them. The only thing you get with unlocks in MGE are people trolling with manthreads/targe/DH.
Also if possible remove the stats!!!!
