It’s a competitive version of TF2, valve have said that making it free to play would be an awful idea.
hmmz ive read they want to make it free aswell.
i dont like that, more noobs.
and i have paid for this game, so that’s unfair for us.

Has anyone considered that it’s just a free weekend?
I mean honestly. Valve are idiots but they wouldn’t fuck up a game so hard that they’d destroy their own mini-economy. Besides, making a game free after hundreds of thousands of people paid for it is wrong. Unless of course, they compensate for it…
…by giving us A FREE HAT.
probably the free accounts will have other drop rates & maybe they won’t be able to trade. :>

surely thats just the TF2 beta?
The “free” one is probably a free weekend coming up and the “comp” one is probably the beta. Nothing especially surprising here though tbh.
Wait and see, so long as we can still play the game with our rules I don’t really care ))

nothing bad in free games

nice.
free – isn’t bad just look at LoL…
Free is bad, because they’ll almost certainly make it pay-to-win or pay a subscription to have content (like quake live) in order to monetise it.

More players means more customers for the store and more people to hit with ‘buy this game and get a free tf2 hat’ advertising, I don’t think they’d need or want to add any costs to dissuade people from getting and playing the game.

you seem to be forgetting the vast amount of wealth they’ve recieved through the mann co store.
i know i’m not the only one whose spent considerably more than the shelf price of the game on item sets keys and the like.
TF2 is only about 10 euros as it stands, its not a far cry from free to play already.
