Sensationalist title to bring you to this topic.

I could have posted this in the LAN forum, but there are two reasons I haven’t —

1.) A lot of people don’t have it on their activity lists
2.) This issue affects more than just the LAN

Think about what it says that a LAN with a TF2 prize pot of £1000 is potentially facing cancellation due to lack of attendance. What does that say about our game? It says you can’t attract the players, people will just continue to go to i-series. That’s not a wise idea if you want to help TF2 become a more respected esport.

All we need is ONE MORE TEAM to avoid cancellation, which would be a severe setback for TF2 as an esport. So here is my proposal:

I’m willing to get a mix team together if it’s just some organisation we need to kick it off. I’ve got to be slightly considerate of my own needs though, so I would prefer it if players were decent (AT LEAST div3 skill). If we fail to get the people I might drop that down, but that might result in some of the current lineup not playing (have some people saying they might play if we get a decent lineup).

So if you’re interested PLEASE post in this thread and I’ll get back to you. This is much more important than just one LAN, TF2 can’t face this sort of humiliation after the i41 disaster.

we’re going to have to be seriously lucky to get decent players, so div3 is probably where we need to set the line, but of course, at the end of the day, we’ll take the best lineup.

I just signed up for WASM with a mix to fill out the missing slot for a team, so why not a another lan at UK then. Only issue I have with this is the fact that dragging my computer setup over the seas with airplane would be a horrible pain in the ass… so If the mix is forming up, I am fairly sure I could make it.

(is there loanable computers at the site ?)

Not everyone can afford to go to LAN you know, we don’t all have MGOs willing to pay for it.

I agree it would be a shame if this got canceled.

get real. MGO’s only support prem div (well maybe some support lovers, but prob only partly). For amateur players lans = get drunk & fun.

aNimus and RCTIC disagree. As far as I’m aware both have/had LAN support.

I’m still fairly sure they weren’t all expenses paid though.
