I’ve made a first rough sketch of what the new HUD may look like. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa461/linkred/links_hud2.png The color palette will see changes in favor of more washed-out colors and more black and white. Target id’s will be taller (even if not so much as in the picture) and contours will be used more sparsely for a more clear and simplistic look. Overall dimensions, measurements and positioning are subject to change. I used Arial in this picture, only since I had nothing else available. Here is a sample of typefaces I’m currently choosing between. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa461/linkred/typefaces.png I favor Akzidenz-Grotesk Medium and Syntax Bold OsF.
The development of this HUD has been discontinued, I no longer have any plans on using or maintaining it. My upcoming Link’s HUD will take it’s place. As of now Square HUD it is working properly with the exception of some glitching due to new unlocks and their entities. I’ll ask and admin to take it off the sticky list. I might take the files down as well, but in case you loose your copy and want to get hold of it, add me and I’ll toss you a link. The HUD didn’t gain a large userbase so I don’t see it being a problem. If someone, contrary to belief, would like to keep maintaining it in my place I’d be willing to give you a push in the right direction. I have a CTF panel stashed away here somewhere that didn’t get released.

Yea, it seems to have broken recently. Like hyk pointed out, I’m not maintaining this HUD anymore, but you can try this:
(1) Put this in your config:
//crosshair
cl_crosshair_file crosshair7
cl_crosshair_scale 16
cl_dynamiccrosshair 0
cl_observercrosshair 1
cl_scalecrosshair 1
cl_crosshair_red 0
cl_crosshair_green 255
cl_crosshair_blue 0
cl_crosshairalpha 255
(2) Remove the XAxis and YAxis entities in tf/resource/ui/HudPlayerClass.res. You can open res files with any text editor.
Alternately you can use my new HUD http://etf2l.org/forum/customise/topic-17955/ , with the commands above. It’s quite similar.
