you know when a free 2 play game like league of legends gets selected for Dreamhack that TF2 has no chance of ever becoming a competitive game.

LoL is not a HoN ripoff because it was released before it
The DotA team split up and Guinsoo (the guy that started DotA) started League of Legends and just because 2 games have the same starting point and similaritys doesn’t mean they are ripoff’s of each other :/
Hurr Durr Cod is a ripoff of Medal of Honor OMGBEEZ

The fact that League of Legends is free to play is what helps it have such a large community, more people backing a game the more likely it is to be considered at major events

You really think DreamHack choose for BLC and LoL? The developers just spend shitloads of money to esports events. Valve won’t do this though :(

Look I’m the last person to criticise anyone who’s putting effort into organising/creating something, but we do kind of need an answer. Even if that answer is “we’re still sorting but its not looking great”, it just has to be honest. This is about when people would be looking at booking tickets/accomodation/transport/days off work to go, so it really is pretty important.

This better happen or I will fold all the top teams

tbh valve could probably afford to cut the initial purchase price of tf2 now and make it free to play since the man store creates such an enormous amount of revenue although this would mean more hats and more shitty weapons. but i suppose it would give tf2 a much larger community.

Not to mention a gazillion hackers. In an interview somewhere Robin Walker said they’d thought about making it F2P, but the cost of tf2 is the only hacker deterrent (since VAC bans by Steamid)
