It is a cvar to turn off freeze cam, not death cam, it is different.
Well, played with it a couple of times now. At first I didn’t really notice it, then I realised I was using the grenades to get most of my kills. The next game I used almost only stickies to test it and the damage does seems pretty rediculous. Can’t kill a soldier with a medic on him as he gets healed faster than a demoman can output damage. You combine that with scouts 2 or 3 shotting all unbuffed classes and you really notice the difference.
Did demomen get an extra nerf or is this all the work of the 1+1/2 formula? Because it doesn’t feel right ;/
Demoman didn’t get a nerf. It’s just the middle damage of the random damage range.
Demoman should be able to take entire teams out. You shouldn’t whine about it and get this mod. If the demoman is a problem then just focus everything on him, like you would do when the other team use a heavy :< This mod is shit tbh
Arx, stickies are easily outdamaging the healing output of a medic, even if its on a soldier. The game has barely changed; three shitty stickies remotely close to a soldier will kill him even if overhealed.
Nades are still more powerful than rockets, they still fire faster than rockets, they still have a larger hitbox than rockets. Stickies are still more powerful than rockets, they still retain twice the ammo of the rocket launcher
All this plug-in does is take the medium value for random damage, so for example if the lower was 50 and the higher was 100 then the plug-in would mean at point blank you’d do 75, but this will get lower with distance.

rofl
“Demoman should be able to take entire teams out.”
Kidding right?
We should separate this mod from the discussion to use static damage / less spread damage.
When we clarified (e.g. polls) to lower spread we can give this mod a try in cups first etc. as ONE option to lower it (before Valve developes cvars for it). Like all coming valve updates between the season, maybe some mod could come into effect during the season.
Since this is a 3rd party mod, you should really consider to give more information about your changes than valve does.
I think there is already enough information in the first post about how the changes are done for the random damage removal, I don’t know what more could I tell.
And less weapon spread is not possible/would create problems as I explained before.
If you read some other posts earlier, few are bashing the mod, few are flaming about every non-valve change, and others are complaining about less information.
I think a majority is for some static damage or at least less spread (<- this done by valve then). This batch of nescience doesnt help in any way.
For the statistics, you could give the master list with every adjusted average.
numlocked and byte make me lawl
first theyre all cool and shit but when their class is finally brought down to a reasonable level then they start bitching like mad. good stuff.
“I was totally FOR the TFTrue plugin back in the day when it was used to block the criticals (ofc) but for the static damages , i’m totally against it , even if it sounds like a contradiction :D for me it’s totally useless.. we should keep the game the way it is and stop crying , and tbh even if there is let’s say 5% of luck in the game , that’s not a bad thing..a
Making the game more predictable will kill tf2 , if you already know as a scout than you can ‘rush’ a demoman because he can’t kill you with one stickies/pipes that will change the gameplay A LOT
The game was released one year ago and have always been using random damages, the community is growing and you want to kill the community by using a plugin who make the game more elitist ? , that’s totally dumb imo , the randomness of the game make the charm of TF2 , i dont want to know than with a rocket and 1 shotgun hit i can kill someone , i love the excitement of not being able to predict when my opponent will die , and i like it :D”
Mick had it in a nutshell there. You’re all trying to make the community grow, but you aren’t giving it much of a chance. If you change too much in a game people dislike it, and it stops them developing as a player, because they keep having to change the way they play or something. Tf2 has only been out a year, and already has lots of people playing it, competitively or not. Cs didn’t grow to millions playing it competitively within the first year, just give tf2 time ^_^
fu jh :p
