Problem with Quake hitsound

Hi, I have a problem with hitsound. I use hitsound “Quake 3” which I downloaded from here(http://www.fpsbanana.com/sounds/10038), the problem is that ,it is very quiet so it hard to hear that when i shoot. What i should do?
first, try to play the sound using some windows program (winamp or something else). if it plays quietly, it’s the file problem and you need to download other. if it is ok, then make sure to add this command to autoexec: tf_dingaling_volume 1. i dont see any other way it could be forced to be quiet in game only.
