Okay.

1. I putted +play quake3.wav in launch options.
2. I putted the right override in my config.cfg
3. Putted my sound in Tf>sound
4. Typed play quake3.wav in console
5. typed +play quake3.wav in my autoexec

But still it tell me this: “Failed to load sound “beautiful lies beep.wav”, file probably missing from disk/repository”

Note: beautiful lies beep.wav (old hitsound)

Try to place your sound in tf/sound/ui, and place these command in autoexec.cfg

// — TF2 – Dingaling —

play “ui/quake3.wav”
tf_dingalingaling “1”
tf_dingaling_volume “1”
tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg “100”
tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg “100”
tf_dingaling_wav_override “ui/quake3.wav”

For me it works with this.

Sry for bad english.

I gave up on my custom hitsound because it only played in some servers so I deleted all the files for it but now I can’t even get the standard one back. I don’t have a line for it in my autoexec and I removed it from script and sound folders.

I re-downloaded the sound and this worked for me, so Cheers. Only thing I had to change was the speech marks, something to do with ANSI coding.
