I installed windows 7 today, and theres a problem. I have these strange fps spikes. I use chrises fps config (the middle one, forgot its name). I used it with xp sp3 too, and there were no problems at all. I have maxed my fps @ 120, and these spices occur every 2-3 seconds. It drops to 70-80, and then pops back to 120. It playable, but it messes up my scout aim. Just glitching around with my crosshair.
been having something like this for ages on XP, cant help it. I suppose it’s my CPU (T2500, 2×2.0 ghz) that’s limiting it :/
My rig!
Duo Core E5200 @ 2.5 ghz
XFX GeForce 9500GT 1gb ddr2
2 gb of ram (600mhz i think)
Net speed of 450-500 down / 100 up. Didnt have any probs with xp!
70fps for 2.5ghz cheap dual core is normal on w7
i had 50 on 2.8ghz e6400 which has less cache so there is the difference…
so ur cpu should have rly big cache to have >100fps on 2.5ghz
just go back to xp or dual boot

Dont’ know if you’re having soundstutering aswell or if you just have fps drops.
If your sound “stutters” it’s likely “stuttering”.
It’s a huge problem for many players, including me.
Here’s some info about it and some minor fixes for it.

There is still no complete solution though.

go back to xp
this should just be the entire contents of this thread
nah its alright. I used your max fps cfg (the one that gives the most fps) + set my fps_max to 80, and its good now!
even if it’s ok you should go back :p
i don’t get why anyone would use any other windows os than XP for gaming :D
its pretttty…its user friendly. You know. People who use win7, are like mac fanboys, only for windows!
