Why thank you :)
If I’m going to go that route I’ll probably rewrite a few parts to be more correct and add a bit more in such as musclememory maps if they work as a direct cross over from css to TF2 and just go into a bit more detail, I feel I could add at least a little more, just need to find the time.
(edit: hopefully expect a the first bits of a thread tomorow or later tonight, though I’m currently at holiday in my grandparents house so I can’t promise anything as I don’t have times planned,

would people prefer it if I made it all in a word doc and sorted it all out, then posted everything at once or if I posted a thread with a better written version of what I wrote here and built on it?)

*below is a little paragraph as I feel I’m getting more credit than I deserve currently :)*
Also I’m not going to take credit for working all this out myself, because people obviously learn stuff overtime from other places and various things other people say, I just sort of compiled a little bit of what I know into a post, don’t think I just sat there one day and thought of all this myself its just stuff I learnt overtime as I was a pritty hardcore CSS player and only recently switched to TF2

Turning sounds off on a dm server doesn’t help with your aim. When being hit from behind you can hear where they are hitting you from, learn to 180 quickly and reflex shot on the spot you think the fire was coming from.

Shows how much you rely on sound, there are the damage indicators remember? :P
Love you Jims!

As for me, all different kinds of sounds are just distracting sometimes. Turning volume down helped a lot.

Most of this post was based on my knowledge from css, which FYI has damage indicators on screen which you kind on uncoinciously (lolspelling) react to, and I assume TF2 has them aswell.

TF2 has ’em, but sound is way better because it gives you more information; distance and the weapon used. And TF2 also has projectiles, that you’ll hear way before they will damage you. I find the visual indicator quite useless when I’m playing with sound.

Yes but imo the general direction is enough if you’re trying to get better aim, you don’t want to know where someone is exacly for the sake of aim practice or you prejudge how far you you’re going to move your mouse before you even do it, defying the point of getting used to muscle memory on seeing a target.
Obviously practice with sound has its place but a random TDM server when you’re only trying to improve your aim isn’t it, and in my current post thats all I’ve covered, I’m not saying you should never use sound or never practice with it what I am saying is what I’ve covered in my post (which is generaly what I assume you’re reacting to, that and the comments related to it) doesn’t relate to getting used to sound and judging things, thats a different matter.

Jims stated that he was explicitly talking about aim. Aim does not comprise the entire scope of deathmatching.
If aiming truly is the only thing you want to train then there’s no reason to join a DM server at all. Just pick two points on a map and move your target between those. After getting your muscle memory on the points, pick another two.

Yes that is pure aim, and that can work, but its also very unsituational, which is why the jist is you use a DM server, to allow you to have to aim in different situations as well as a few other things, but I understand what you’re saying, I just believe I’ve worded some of my responces (probably including this one) a bit wrong resulting in a sort of confusion, I’ll touch on complete muscle memory when I make a thread as there is a few things I want to say on it versus conventional deathmatching.

Besides what Jims pointed out, this is also amazingly boring.
