Keep the redundant posts going.
I’m off to bed, hope Adam comes in soon and takes over. :D

What i’d like someone to explain to me is why people with systems with decent tri/quad core cpu’s decent gpus with dx10/dx11, that are more than capbable of running tf2 with max detail at >60 fps, run an fps cfg and dx8 mode and have the game look like a game from the mid 90’s
Its smoother, and easier to see enemy
Chris stop talking bullshit
dx8 disables a lot of gpu effects, most noticably screen distortion -so the sniper scope has none, and can do better twitch shots just by seeing someone at border of screen

So you’ve ran out of bullshit technical stuff that you evidently know nothing about and have instead opted for this with nothing to back it up?
Bravo! My work here is done.
Good night, friends!

dx8 disables a lot of effects that use screen distortion, for instance, sniper scope has none, so you can do better twitch shots just by seeing someone at border of screen
thanks for the info, personally i like the effects so i’ll do without my game looking like a turd to try and gain a small advantage

the human eye can see in advance of 200fps. the cinema & film related 25/30 fps is based around how a camera captures movement with motion blur
if you are not blind you can clearly see a 60hz monitor update as you move your mouse in a 3d game. if i could afford a 120hz monitor i would buy one. although i would prefer 200hz +

Lost the actual copypasta, but I remember the following values:
Multicore disabled: 54.7fps average
Multicore enabled: 70.6fps average
Not bad 8)
