We have released a provisional whitelist for testing purposes in preparation for Season 22. The additional weapons allowed include:

Scout
– Back Scatter
– Baby Faces Blaster

Soldier
– Rocket Jumper
– Batillions Backup
– Mantreads
– Market Gardener

Demoman
– Loch n Load
– Chargin Targe
– Ullapool Caber
– Sticky Jumper

Heavy
– Holiday Punch
– KGB

Engineer
– Eureka Effect

Sniper
– Huntsman
– Machina
– Hitmans Heatmaker
– Bazaar Bargain

Spy
– Enforcer
– Dead Ringer
– Spy-cicle

In addition, we are planning to prohibit picking up any weapons including mediguns .

We welcome any feedback on the above weapons, or on any changed weapons already allowed from Season 21. Please make sure you have tried these weapons in a competitive setting before giving feedback.

Please remember that “this weapon is broken and OP” or “this weapon is dumb” is not helpful feedback for us, and an explanation of why the weapon should be banned would be better.

Huntsman and Market Gardener will prove to be interesting due to how hitboxes (don’t) work in TF, but both were allowed in ESEA s19 and I didn’t see any overly weird shit happening with them across the pond – so I doubt it’ll be any worse over here, at least after the first few weeks of people acclimating themselves, similar to Vaccinator or the recent pyro unlocks.

Looking forward to those new items!

The bfb should stay banned scouts already move fast enough to be a very strong class. Also I think you should allow all weapon pickups, it is a massive new mechanic to the game. This is similar to if you tried to ban airblasting when then pyro update came out. It is a new core game mechanic, adds interesting new changes to the way comp is played and valve probably isnt going to back down.

Bfb is not that good anymore as it used to be. Because scouts are usually slower than normal scouts now.
It’s still good with uber though.

It’s very sad that you blocked cleaver (Flying Guillotine). It was so much fun.

BFB is horrible, why are you complaining about it? It takes like 30 damage to remove all Scout’s boost.

I don’t agree too much adding weps like Chargin Targe, Ullapool Caber, Huntsman and Dead Ringer cause they will make random mixes & co. even more random and out of the 6v6s scheme (even tho i don’t think this whitelist will affect ETF2L officials too much, apart from Dead Ringer).
Please make sure you’ve considered ALL the kind of situations that the proposed whitlist will affect, above all the huge upgrade for the spy.

– Back Scatter – It is good if your Scout likes to play like a pussy and hide behind enemy lines 24/7, you still need 2 shots at close range to kill someone with this weapon, just like with normal Scatter. It’s ok I suppose.

Soldier
– Rocket Jumper – If combined with a shotgun (and good aim), Roamer can do a faster rollout to get fast frag on Demo, but is rendered useless after that, so you’re essentially gonna end up playing 5v5 anyway…Unless you have god like Shotgun aim and you played 500 hours on Hightower. Allow it.
– Batillions Backup – Denies Kritzkrieg, gives extra 20 hp. Combined with a Pocket Soldier and it can be quite viable, maybe…But it’s not that gamechanging. It’s ok.
– Mantreads – Really unreliable and useless, unless you wanna do extremely high jumps. Useless, allow it.
– Market Gardener – Gives more variety to a Roamer and makes him much more interesting, in good hands it can be quite lethal, yet unreliable sometimes. 50/50, needs to be playtested a bit first.

Demoman
– Loch n Load – Still really annoying to play against, especially if you’re a Scout. It’s basically a Direct hit for Demo, which makes Airshots easier as well. Not fun to play against IMO so keep it Banned.
– Chargin Targe – If you can hit all your pipes, then this weapon will make you the best Demo in the world, but it lowers spamming capabilities and area denial. Improves survivability but lowers damage output. Should be Ok to allow it.
– Ullapool Caber – It can’t 1 hit kill Scouts or Medic anymore, so it’s not that lethal as pre-nerf version of it. Allow it
– Sticky Jumper – Same as Rocket Jumper, allow it and make Alle happy.

Heavy
– Holiday Punch – It’s really gimmicky and useless, it can only work if you’re using Kritz on defense and you pop on Heavy so that he punches Ubered enemies, which will instantly immobilize them. Allow it I guess.
– KGB – Same as above, gimmicky.

Engineer
– Eureka Effect – Doesn’t change anything

Sniper
– Huntsman – Can be really annoying to play against, all you need is to spam choke 24/7 and hope for some random idiot to peek and get headshotted. Luck based and annoying, keep it banned.
– Machina – Straight upgrade to stock, keep it banned
– Hitmans Heatmaker – If you can hit all your shots, can be quite viable combined with a Focus. Focus rewarded for killing someone so it’s kinda Skill – Reward weapon. Allow it
– Bazaar Bargain – Kind of a straight downgrade, you need at least 3 headshot kills in order for this weapon to become viable. Same as above, skill – reward weapon. Allow it

Spy
– Enforcer – No idea if it can be good or bad tbh.
– Dead Ringer – Makes Spy less sneaky and makes enemy team more aware of his presence, but is rather annoying to play against a perma Spy, needs to be tested more Imo. [/b]
– Spy-cicle – Only good with the Dead ringer, for escaping Pyros, else it is useless. Allow it

Also don’t ban Weapon pickup system, ban Medigun pickup if that is needed, but not overall.

I’m fine with everything except Baby Faces Blaster, since it makes scouts with good movement 1000000x harder to hit.
