Thanks for the picture Tikcus
btw.

It was placed on that because you never made an effort to schedule. If one team asks for a date but the other team does not react, then the default date will be on the date the first team requested.

this thursday (4/7/10) at 21:00?
That was apparently a wrong date (typo?).
ah ok my mistake. just cared on “this thursday”
in this case it would be irritating. i agree
Ok, just a moment.
Everyone reading this post, stand up, take a step back from your PC. Go make a coffee, go for a walk, just something that gets you away from your PC for a couple of minutes to chill out and get your head screwed on a bit.
Now, lets get some perspective on this. About 352 teams (I think?) entered etf2l this season. That means there will be 176 matches every week of Season 8. Lets say 10% of those matches don’t get scheduled and need to get an admin to default them (fairly likely, thats 1 match per group). That means the admins have about 18 matches to set a default date for every week. Now I’m going to take a total guess here and say it takes 10 minutes for an admin to have a read through comments (if any) and work out times and so on for each game.
That is 3 hours work. for no pay. and nothing but whine in return. So an admin, who has potentially thrown 3 hours work at something for no thanks, should get disciplined because he made a daft mistake?
Are you serious? Like really, are the people suggesting this actually fucking serious? Ok a tongue-in-cheek slap on the wrists sure, but really this is such a tiny tiny insignificant thing it doesn’t really matter. I’m not saying the admins are right here, I’m just suggesting the whiners get a little perspective.
All of this could have been avoided if the person in question had taken literally just 5 minutes to add the other team on steam and work out a date, which is what they were supposed to do on the first place. Its like going to jail and then complaining you don’t like that food.

[…] should get disciplined because he made a daft mistake […]
who said that?
we just want to get a chance to play the match and dont want to discipline anyone.
and by the way we did add the opponent on steam and tried to get a match date.
just read the thread pls.

Quite a few people actually. or at least heavily implied it anyway.
its not like u had no chance to arrange this game, I mean sure it sounds unlucky that there been only 6 hours time between the announcement and the actual default date, but still it was the first week and u knew the deadline of the first week before.
also I guess ur opponent found the time to read the post from racio about the default date and prolly been on the server that eve.
they only had 6 hours aswell and they managed.
correct me if I am wrong..
No-one needs reprimanding or telling off or even a wrist slapping. It just needs common sense to prevail, let one team use a wildcard and let them organise it between themselves.
Please let common sense win this one, it really is a bit unfair to have the default date/time soooo close to the posting of said date/time, honestly, put yourself in their shoes.

^this
mistakes happen, it’s how they are dealt with/corrected that matters.
the best move would be if the swedes would read this and would agree to a proper “rematch”, that would be sportsmanship

So you’re saying that, because it’s all done in their spare time, and they don’t get paid for it, they have a green light to go ahead and make mistakes? (have to admit I’m not really sure if that’s the case here or not..).
Granted, it shouldn’t be as big a deal as it’s made it to be in this particular case, but that just sounds a bit silly.

Ok, make a coffee, go out, chill and and maybe read some books.
Now, go to page 1 and read it, then go to page 2 and read it, and so on until you get to page 7.
k?
By now you might get our point, that we don’t want to find anyone who is responsible for something like that, but that we just want to play the game.
Also you might realize, that we did talk to the opponents team. But nobody thought of it to post it at the match page, since we still weren’t sure when to play.
But then on Thursday, it got defaulted. we didnt have time to react.
Then we talked to an admin and he said, that if the opponent agrees we can replay it.
so we waited for our opponents because a part of their team including their leader(s) were on vacation. On sunday, they were back and when i wrote ” hey, when do you have time to replay the game” he just deleted me, so i talked to a different member and he said no ( he wrote more but that was the response summed up) and deleted me as a friend too. (speaking of sportsmanship)
Put yourself in our position. Would yo enjoy it?
As so many ppl here already said it.
we could have easily drawn our wildcard if anyone would have noticed.
edit:
it is the week 2 game
again: its not about how they failed to schedule the game. its not. of course everything could have been prevented that way. but it didnt. so woo has to live with the consequences. no question there.
the point is: the consequences should have been a default date, not a default loss.
Ok, look at it this way, since people are still whining about it:
The admin had 2 options. The first was to set the default date to the only date suggested, 3 days ago. The team suggesting the date saw this, shows up. The other team doesn’t see it because they haven’t been on the match page for at least 3 days already and thus gets the default loss.
The second was to set the default date to friday/saturday/sunday, which, for the team that actually suggested a day and time, might have been impossible, forcing them to wildcard. This would have rewarded the team that has done the least amount of effort to schedule the game and punished the team that actually did suggest a date.
And now people claim that the admin should’ve done the second option? Nice logic!
