Hi,
I have seen that some competitive players were interested in playing with a higher FoV. I have seen that some players already do it by changing their aspect ratio.
I decided to make a client side plugin that let you do that more easily without the need to use a fucked up aspect ratio.
This is a client side plugin, just like PREC. There has already been a similar plugin that was made for L4D2 and was very popular, back in May 2010. I can no longer find the thread on the Steam Forums, but it can still be downloaded here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DYC5MZL9 (probably broken due to L4D2 updates though).
The installation instructions and how to use it can be found in the zip.

Changelog:
1.0
Initial Release
1.1
Fixed the FoV resetting to default value when switching server
It should now work on CSS as well (the weapon viewmodel disappears, though)

I’m just trying to help :/
All the plugin does is edit the fov_desired cvar (expanding the min & max values) and update your fov value in your player entity.
Some time ago I even made a plugin to fix broken demos.

sure
now someone who isnt as shady as casual answer
:o
If this works then it’s even way better than running a diff aspect ratio because aside from wider horizontal fovs it would also increase vertical fov (as the fov_desired cvar dicates vertical fov) … I don’t wanna be the first to try this from some newly registered steamid-less guy though xD
I checked it and it seems to work just like Casual said.
While this may be a harmless plugin, be wary of other plugins you use while having -insecure in your launch options, as this disables the signature check (which valve-approved plugins require).
Is it allowed?
Default settings ftw!
